Never said Marriaga didn't fight a good fight. He is an excellent and well schooled fighter. That's what made Walters victory more impressive. Just because a fighter is bigger doesn't mean that he is a better boxer. However Walters was the better fighter and that got noticed by Team Loma. Loma don't wanna see Walters nowhere inside that square circle.
I didn't see anyhting in that fight that changed my mind about the Loma match up, the only thing I noticed was the body punching, that could come handy against Loma but that's about it. I don't think that's enough to win him the fight I don't see why Loma's team would think any other way either.
Loma's team are probably more worried about how his fists would hold up. They know his hand are fragile and walters is tough as nails, he wouldn't be able to keep him off with one arm like the boxer from thailand. There's not enough incentive for them to fight walters at the moment.
Now, that makes sense to me. I wasn't aware of Loma's hand issues. You know there seems to be more and more fighters with fragile hands. Is it the training or is it that they are just hitting a lot harder for their size.
Now that we can agree on. There so many boxers with hand problems. Ward basically fractures his hands after every fight, Floyd always had hand problems, Lomachenko has had hand problems even as an amateur if I'm not mistaken, Russell Jr, Verdejo the list seems to keep going. That's definitely not good. I'm especially worried about Loma since he's my favorite boxer and I would hate these hand issues to stop him from achieving things.
