His defense is mostly parrying. Imo, that's the hardest defense to use, it takes a lot of coordination to parry to the body and head, left and right, as well as he does. He catches everything.
Yeah. Parrying is more difficult but more efficient because when done right you're in better punching position. The trend and evolution in boxing the last 20 years has been towads slipping more than parrying. Parrying had become a bit of a lost art. Just makes Loma seem even more incomparable.
Loma is the complete package. H makes guys beat themselves mentally, which is something fighters with light power but extraordinary skill have to do. As he moves up he will have to move more but as long as he stays offensive like he is with that defensive mix he beats plenty of guys.
I read somewhere that Lomachenko isn't interested in becoming a PPV star but rather just wants fights which enhance his legacy. However taking into account his likeable charm, good looks and most of all his exhilarating, fan-friendly, unique boxing style I think stardom could be thrust upon him and he could fill the void left by Mayweather and become the new king of the sport.
Great head movement, foot placement, and hand speed. It'll be interesting to see how he does if he moves up but at the moment he looks very tough to beat.
Not yet, but the more successful he becomes, the more hated he will become. That seems to be the way in sport
@Chutz - Too true. So far everybody seems to love him but I hear what your saying. ps. If that is Hitch in your avatar and I think it is, good choice, that man was a hero and remains a legend.
