He's a great fighter and I think he'll be champion soon. But... His head is very thin and long, kind of like Amir Khan and Paul Williams. His chin has glass written all over it. Also, when asked what he thinks the most important attributes for a fighter are, he answered "timing and the ability to dose your energy" (the Ukrainian commentators said this during the fight). With that second item, Loma is basically admitting to having a stamina deficiency. A guy who has stamina doesn't need to "dose his energy" (see Calzaghe, Margarito, Provodnikov). I think he wins his next few fights but gets knocked out by either Nonito or Rigo, and maybe even Mares, depending on who he fights first.
He throws some good shots but he doesn't counter....he waits till you stop throwing then he throws. Fighters like that always get messed-up when they take that step up...sometimes even before they step up. He gives up his ribs and blinds himself with his own gloves...he offers up way too many targets...on top of all that HE BACKS STRAIGHT UP.
A lot of fighters went through the amateurs without getting floored, but without that headgear, it's a different story. My prediction that Vasili Lomachenko will get KOed is based on looking at his head. His face is too thin, and that always spells doom for a boxer. Once Nonito cracks that glass, you'll understand what I was talking about.:deal
Yes. I just re-watched the fight, and he is vulnerable to the body. The reason he always has his gloves up on his face may be that he has a shaky chin, but it might just be the style he chooses. And he doesn't have the head movement of Floyd Mayweather. I say that because so many people are already comparing him to Floyd. Loma basically moves his whole body in order to avoid a punch. Floyd and even Broner can stand in there with you and just make you miss with head movement. Loma has a lot in common with Lucian Bute. Great body-punching, fast feet, but lacks head movement and (probably) a good chin.
Can't argue with what I said about Lomo so you hide behind a fullstop...:deal Lomo will get fullstopped soon as he steps up.
Good call. He has to move his whole frame out of the way instead of just his head...that is TIRESOME.What happens when somebody throws LOTS of shots at him? He'll run out of gas. He backs right into right hands...the guy he just fought had rights waiting for him. He sets himself up.
He might get KO'ed later in his Career. But not anytime soon. Nonito couldn't ko glass chin Rigo. Mares would be outboxed before getting ko. Rigo does hit hard enough.
Someone needs to invent a machine that has a robotic arm with a boxing glove on the end that you can input a psi into so we can measure punch resistance of different fighters.
My answer to your post may seem like a troll attempt, but I just don't have the type of "evidence" you're looking for. The initial post is not a troll at all, and neither is my answer to Mr Pibb.
If you write bad words, you automatically get censored. So you need to write fu.ck, shi.t, and as.s or else the automatic censor will give you ****, ****, and ***.
I could make a list of guys with long thin faces who have shaky chins. Here are a few you might know: Amir Khan, Paul Williams, Thomas Hearns, Felix Sturm... Those are just the first off the top of my head. They were all put to sleep at some point in their careers.
