Whilst Lomo isn't a massive puncher he defiantly is a hurtful one. But and this is the main thing he is light years ahead of everyone else at 126 in technique. Lomo v Walters will be an intriguing match.
When considering Lomachenko's power, first remember that the vast majority of punches Lomachenko throws are not intended for power. They're intended for manipulation of the opponents movements, as well as setting up a big shot. Whenever Lomachenko did land cleanly, you can tell they were the sort of shots that'll hurt, and he had Piriyapinyo very hurt, dropping him etc. After the 5th round, he completely lost his left hand therefore couldn't crack with it, and it decreased the range of power punches he could through with his right hand. Anyway, Lomachenko's power is a confusing one. It's certainly not as good as I'd hoped for and when he moves up to 130lbs and 135lbs, especially against dudes who hydrate greatly, he will hurt his opponents less.
^ Good ****ysis, but he didn't lose his hand after the 5th, it wasn't until the 7th or 8th I believe.
This Thai has also fought a large portion of guys with losing records, he's never fought out of Asia, and the only notable name he's fought was Chris John. Guess what the results were for that fight? Yep, you guessed it right, a complete shut out.
I would have thought that being a F.l.o.m.o you would have enjoyed a clinic of pure boxing like that ?
I did enjoy the clinic, I'm just stating the he lacks power. Everyone always states Floyd lacks power, which is true at 147 because he's a small guy, and he has hand problems. However he definitely had way more power than Loma at 130, then Loma has at 126. I'm not a ***** btw, I'm a fan of Pacquiao too.
Lomo is a purists dream the combination punching, defensive prowess and footwork, he is peerless at 126. I'm normally a fan of the week and destroy fighters like Golovkin, Matthysse, Kovalev but I find Lomo a nice change.
Loma is great to watch no doubt. :good I don't get why people are taking me saying Loma lacks power as criticism, or to downgrade his win since he didn't get a KO. I'm just stating a fact, but lomatards can go ape**** ****** sometimes.
I think you're justified as Lomachenko showed more power than Golovkin in the amateurs. But if he was a truly great power puncher, he would have knocked all of these guys out other than perhaps Salido because of the stylistic differences. Well, balance that paragraph with the fact that he needs to learn how to be a finisher because he absolutely isn't yet. I don't think he even knows that he can overwhelm to get a TKO.
No one has fought tougher opponents this fast. Loma might have the best pound for pound skills in the game today.
