Sadly they're not popular enough to make more yet.

To quote William Munny as portrayed by the great Clint Eastwood, "Deserve's got nothing to do with it".

Exactly. It's a popularity contest when it comes to money.

doesn't seem much at all for the quality involved in this match up. This is the best possible fight in boxing other than Golovkin - Canelo/Ward at the moment.

That's a good deal considering RIGO himself said winner takes ALL, winner takes nothing.
Loma is being extremely fair here, as he would otherwise receive the lion share.

I agree, I think both deserve more than that. I'm not certain Loma can detonate Rigo and as special as Loma is, I don't think anyone can merely "box" with Rigo, not even him. That being said, both are heads and tails above anyone else near their weights, Walters excluded of course.

    Walters not excluded.
Loma has always done a good job vs counter punchers, other than the weird hybrid big, aggressive counter puncher that is Albert Selimov.

Loma doesn't have enough pro quirks in this game to win this fight the ugly way. To be frank, I don't think he wants to win the ugly way either. The reason for making this fight is to determine who is the best *boxer*, thus retaining a dominant amateur approach.

Loma would need to continue to work on effective aggression, nevertheless as he continues his career.

You'd want a guaranteed sum, and I doubt Rigo will move up to fight a beast that's bigger than him for peanuts, it'd need to be a very enticing offer and this is very average.

Rigo did confirm that he will fight a winner-takes-all match, yesterday. Loma is making it financially plausible. Loser gets the $500k he was always going to get.

Otherwise, Loma is the A side and would get the lion share in this fight.
Let's just hope Loma can be equitable and honour a rehydration limit.

honestly, I don't agree Loma is the A-Side at all. Rigo has headlined HBO events before and he's got far more prestige, in terms of popularity it's not like Loma is some cash cow who attracts crowds, he's a little known fighter as well.

    Make it happen ffs!

the two greatest amateurs in history facing each other in the pro ring? this is a once in a lifetime chance for boxing ans. Too bad Rigo will probably chicken out, that offer seems like peanuts for a fight of this calibre

I don't even think it's about that, Loma is seen and treated as the new golden boy, people want to fight him now because he brings money to the table now...for them (as well as a fight that isn't a stinker).
Although Selby is ducking Loma, but he can milk £ fighting domestics.

This is one fight people will watch 30 years from now. It will be a gem for us big boxing fans, in particular.
2x Olympic Gold, 2x World Amateur Champs, each.

I have no doubt both could outbox Walters, for a time, however that guy is a giant and brings a physicality that endangers both. I agree that I'm not certain Loma can box with Rigo.

It doesn't work that way. You get paid based on your ability to draw an audience. That's the way things work.

AFAIK, Rigo can't draw flies and Lomachenko is still relatively unknown to many casual boxing fans.
