i love loma, my 3rd favorite fighter right now, thats why i dont harp on his duck of pacman, a fight half the fighters in boxing dream about. but loma knows, like i know, that pac would punch a hole right through him. how do you turn down a fight against the greatest active fighter in the sport, when he is accommodating your weight to make it happen. its a financially enriching chance at becoming a historic legend. most fighters in his place would make the fight even if they were positive pac would ko them, cause hes old and theres always that chance that this is the fight pac becomes shot.
at first i thought loma was negotiating the best deal he can vs pac, but the more i read about it, the more it looks like loma just dont want that smoke.

Finally a long standing and highly respected poster with a great analysis on all of this. Case should be closed. This guy is the detective that solved it.

Ya, if there was a cop following Loma when he swerved Pac he'd have had Loma oit of the car doing a field sobriety test, which he might fail becauae he was so shook by Pac.

At first I just thought that the competitive nature in Loma just didnt want to fight a guy well past his best.

But Pacquiao is clearly still a name. And is generally recognized by most knowledgable boxing fans as having the greatest career since Ray Leonard. So why wouldnt any fighter want a name like Pacquiao on his resume? Especially if hes older and a breeze to outbox?

Well now I'm starting to think that Loma just doesnt feel confident from 135-140 pounds. Which is where he would fight Pacquiao.

Pacquiaos workrate, reflexes and speed are gone. But he still punches decently hard.

And even though Loma and Pac are almost identical in size I think he fears Pacquiaos power. Especially at the higher weights. Pac just has that power. Its god given and that worries Loma in my opinion.

Certainly viable. I was always of the belief that Loma would be all kinds of wrong for Pac -- prime or current version at 126 to 130 -- but above that I totally agree your 100% on the dot, he just doesnt feel comfortable at the weight and he aint beating Pac if he aint confident

seriously, give me 1 name under 154lbs that would not get massive credit for beating pac right now. that whole "i wouldnt get any credit" line sounds a bit high pitched, if you know what i mean.

Well Mayweather beat him and so did Horn but that was at 147 and Pac was older. Neither of them got massive credit. Maybe a little bit. But the luster of fighting Pacquiao has worn off a little. Just in comparison to what it once had. But for a guy who is not well known among casual boxing fans why wouldnt you want a launching pad for your career.

i did not have horn beating him, and floyd is atg material. where do you think broner would be today if he had beaten pac? pac is not just another name who used to be able to fight, hes still showing boxers how they compare to an old 140lb legend.

Mikey got the **** beat out of him this month. Physically that'll take a lingering toll. Mentally is even worse....he was supposed to be the skill guy in there and was absolutely deconstructed.

135 was always hellacious for that doughboy to make. Coming back down to it is going to be a nightmare (if it's even feasible)....

Listen, you need to prepare yourself for 120-107 across the board again. It won't be such a physical beating, but ask any boxer....a fight where you cannot land and are being hit flush repeatedly is far, far worse. Helplessness will ensue quickly.

He may spend all his living days lost in the deepest annals of the Matrix.

Unfortunately for him Haymon is probably ready to cash out his non-black fighter. He's not much more than ground sausage for Al at this point.

im starting to think you and the ts are the same knucklehead, neither one has ever been in a ring, neither ksab, both lie through your teeth about everything, and both sleep on a pillow with lomas face on it.
you thought he was the skill guy, you did. reread my posts, i kept stressing how everyone would be surprised at how great a boxer spence is. i dont have to excuse any of my posts, none of them have been proven wrong. on the contrary, my posts prove i know what is going on.
mikey doesnt fight for haymon, he is a free agent. any more bullcrap you want to peddle to sooth your aching heart?

Quite the contrary. Lomachenko is tailor made for Pac. Lomachenko comes forward and throws punches in bunches. And with no fear of any real power coming back at him, Pac will INVITE shots from Lomachenko and happily eat some to land his left. And I don't think Loma can take more than 1 or 2 before we see something that we've never seen before—Lomachenko on his bike.

To be honest, it wouldn't be competitive. Featherfisted guy that is smaller than him?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! It would be a slaughter and one of Pac's EASIEST wins.

    Crawford's too big
    Paquiao's too old
Lopez is too young and doesn't have a paper belt
    Mikey doesn't want the fight
Uncle Bob doesn't need to waste time making the rematch with Salido
    GRJ didn't earn a rematch
Berchelt? Who's he? Never heard of him.

TANK, YOU'RE 5'3 A WEIGHT CLASS BELOW ME AND IN COURT AS MUCH AS YOU ARE IN THE RING. DON'T DUCK ME!

And this is the number one fighter P4P. I know it's a business and guys want to make money for easy fights, but this is getting ridiculous.

Because I’ve heard you say it all before. You’re dumb, and extremely biased. I still haven’t seen you address Mikey’s performance against Spence. If you had any honesty or were in anyway interested in discussing boxing you wouldn’t still be on Mikey’s nuts saying the same dumb things. We all saw Mikey get comprehensively outboxed, that wasn’t meant to happen. As I’ve said many times before, beyond being dishonest you obviously also have an extremely low iq. It’s painful to read what you type out at times, not just for the content.

Loma isn’t some guy sparring in the gym. He’s fought bigger and better guys than Mikey in the amateurs, I’ve seen sparring footage of him beating up a middleweight when he was an amateur.
There are levels, and Loma is on a different planet than Mikey Garcia.
