He's the first 1-1 fighter ever to fight for a title. Dubious history in the making thanks to Bob Arum $. We've seen this title bonananza with with Pacquiao and Arum. Same day, same sh*t.

    @The Akbar One

I'll be honest I really hate to believe that a fighters nationality may play a part in how he is treated throughout a fight, but history says otherwise. I used to get on fighters who I thought made to much about the location of fights, Froch for example, I used to think he made too much about fighting at home, with the way the Loma fight was ref'd, I can see why. Look I can see how a bad scorecard can change a fight, maybe even lead to a bad decision, but a fighter can come back from a bad decision. Bad refereeing can lead to serious unnecessary injury, hard to come back from that.

styles make fights. i don't know that russell would be able to beat lomachenko as easily as u make it sound though i would favor russell based on what i've seen from both. one thing i know for sure though....in lomachenkos 8 fights...yes, 8, not 2...he has fought the better opposition which leads me to believe russell is being protected for a reason. he looks amazing against the walking corpses he's been in with. even against those walking corpses...i've never seen him sustain a body/thigh/hip/ass/nut attack like the one salido administered.

good point...of the two infractions....low blows definitely are more harmful than holding. to lomachenkos credit....salido was holding as well. and none of lomachenkos holding was on the level of what we saw from salido in that last round. the champ was coming apart like a cheap suit...and it was he that looked like the amateur trying to survive.

    LOL, 8 my ass.
Even Loma says those 6 rd open glove fights don't count.
Loma has Two (2) professional fights. He is 1-1.

    he wore no headgear...

    no shirt....

    he fought with 10oz gloves...

    they fought 5-3 minute rounds...

and he was paid $5000 for each fight....

    that's professional boxing.

    his record is on fightfax.

regular pros making their 4 round debut don't make $5k.

Very true. Many are saying Loma didn't deserve the fight in the first place, as is that's some justification for him receiving poor refing, and like I said before, the 12th round told very different story as to if he deserved the fight in the first place.

he let them both fight. loma held and salido had alot of borderline lowblows. alot of you are acting like they were all eggregous when they werent. the fight was fine. the right guy won, period. Loma came on strong but didnt do enuff in the end. Done and done. he'll have a sucessful career and he'll learn from this and be better for it.

Borderline low blows?! Who in the hell is calling blows on the legs, ball and hips borderline?! Should the decision of the Bowe/Golota fight be reversed?! More low blows landed by Salido that Golota landed on Bowe by far. It happened the entire fight for 12 rounds..............holding? Compare Lomachenko's clinching with Salido's out and out hugging/holding on for dear life. If Cole had done something about it Lomachenko would have knocked Salido out. Lomachenko just did not expect to be cheated. This is not the first fight Cole has ruined. Lomachenko is honest, but was severely punished for being honest................this gives boxers a bad message..........

Very good point by the TS. I was surprised at the announcing of this
fight that Arum was going to pit Loma against one of his veterans on
the way out. However......looking at it from a biz standpoint I now see
how Ol' Bob profited from it. Loma begged for this fight so Bob knew that
his new charge could deal with a close loss, so he stacked the deck on
purpose by putting it in SA with the Cole-billies in charge to make sure the
mexican won in N mexico. All the while now getting Loma another shot to
make even more $$. Yep, politics indeed and Loma got schooled in the pro
game for sure. He won the boxing contest against Salido and any real
fan knows it, but Loma got schooled in a modern day pro contest but
    not only by Salido.

It's not like Salido "exposed" Lomachenko, at least not to anybody with a little bit of brain power. Lomachenko came close to knocking out Salido in the last round so I don't see what Salido thinks he has to brag about, especially considering his advantages of being 11 pounds heavier and having an incompetent referee greatly affected the outcome of the fight. I expect Lomachenko will beat the daylights out of Salido if they have a rematch, even an immediate one. That is if the stars don't align and Salido is destined to have a weight advantage and questionable referee in the future. Salido barely had enough talent to "win" with some significant intangible advantages. Next time around those benefits are not going to be there for him.
