apologies--it was meant to be humour (which i've never been very good at) because the text of your post sounded like a line from a Jesse Jackson speech

 

The only fight Salido's won in his last four was against a relative peanut and he still got bounced off the canvas. He was nowhere near the Gamboa-Salido when he first fought Lomachenko, and he has visibly fallen off more since then although he still fights the same way and he's certainly no scrub. Lomo has improved greatly since their fight. I expect Lomo to convincingly win, not sure if I'll pick the distance or maybe a mid-round stoppage in this one.

 

Salido is a warrior but lately he's looked a little worse for wear and Loma is getting exponentially better every time I see him.

I can't see anything other than a dominating win by Loma. Either a wide points decision or a sorner/ref stoppage.

Had the rematch happened immediately, I'd have picked Loma clearly based on how he figured out Siri as the fight wore on and how he fixed his pacing (probably the most glaring flaw I saw out of him in that fight- he finished with way too much energy after starting way too slow).

It's only gotten more lopsided as time's gone on. As such, it wouldn't bother me if the rematch never happened. I just find it humorous that some of the people holding the loss against him never want to see him avenge it for some odd reason.

 

Even during his Juanma victories he was getting bounced off the canvas by Weng Haya. The 36 year old is clearly not at his previous level in the Gamboa, Cruz, and Juanma fights in 2010, from my viewing, than he was struggling with Martinez and having another Weng Haya moment in his last fight against the no name Colombian.

He's had a solid career, fought many top guys, and peaked later in his career. I'm not trying to downplay a rematch victory by Lomachenko. I don't need to. Saying anything different would be just trying to hype it up... It just is what it is.
