So you're the ignored content. completely forgot you even posted here.

Anyway, where in this thread did I get upset? You are mature enough to realize disagreements aren't always arguments? I disagree with plenty here who I am friendly and respectful with, an agree with on other topics.

Your attempt to fan the flames is pretty much your contribution here in a nutshell. No wonder i added you to the ignore ages ago. This board is much better w/ trolls not shown.

I am a big fan and long time of Chris John. And I believe that very few boxer fight like him, especially nowadays. He fights beautifully using various high-level boxing technique and strategy to outsmart his opponent. Frankly, since his retirement, the level of my passion of boxing has gone down quite a bit. But now I've regained my passion back since I've found a new boxer that I really like (of course I'm still John's fan) who possess the same style as John. And his name is Lomachenko. And I dare to say that Loma is bigger talent and has higher technical level than John.

Now, should Loma fight John in his early pro days ? I don't think so.

Though John is a skilled boxer, he was kind of protected boxer. It'll be difficult for Loma to secure a fight with John. Especially if John's camp knows that Loma is p4p #1 and biggest name in amateur boxing world. His fight against Simpiwe Vetyeka was a desperate move from the aging John to add a title to his WBA belt. And it wasn't even one of big 4 belts. He was after IBO belt, the one that Simpiwe won from his compatriot, Daud Yordan. And it was proven to be a mistake since John has underestimated one big thing : his body.

Since his match against Satoshi Hosono, John has actually already been facing difficulties to maintain his fitness and weight. Even against Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo, the one that I watched live, his stamina drastically dropped in later rounds. In the final fight of John's career, I got this inside little story from boxing crew who later passed it to my friend who is happened to be a boxing journalist. It was said that during the weigh-in, John's belly looked so big that made Simpiwe laughed and said "You had problem with your diet, I'm going to beat you just like I beat him (pointed Daud who was also in the same room)"

So, will Loma win against John if the match is somewhat happen ? The answer is definitely yes. In my opinion, even John should not take the fight against Simpiwe and should have retired undefeated, though it means that he'll stay one win behind Eusebio Pedroza as the longest reigning featherweight champion in history.

Now, back to Loma, I always think that his defeat to Salido is a good thing. Many boxers become afraid of losing because of "0 loss" record, including Chris John himself. But now Loma doesn't have that problem anymore. If he fought John, of course probably he would stay undefeated, break the record and even win his world championship with KO victory. But he'll learn nothing. Against Salido, he lost the match, but he learned a lot. He learned that pro-boxing world is dirty and it's not easy to become world champion. That day Loma learned the hard part and it is good for his career. Like the Chinese saying, failure is the mother of success.

Very well said! I think one aspect we don't always look at is, ow many established boxers or champs are going to want to face a fighter who is 0-0 or 1-0. Very few. Many would look at it as a step back based on the record alone, not boxing pedigree.
