A title fight in his second pro bout is not over rushing him?

You "feel" that Golden Boy has more fighters? What are the numbers?

Keep sipping the GBP kool aid. All promoters are the same.

    Didn't mention GBP.

And Bob Arum is worse than most. Infact Bob Arum is worse than all. No fan of Golden Boy, plenty to dislike about them too, but I hope they put Top Rank out of business. Definitely the lesser of the two evils by far.

2nd fight title shots, they don't get much more rushed than that this side of Pete Rademacher .

It's an interesting battle going on between Top Rank and Golden Boy.

Top Rank has really invested in Asian and Eastern European fighters to build a global portfolio- it looks like, to my analyst's eye, that they're planning on that being the next big boxing market, with Macau becoming another Vegas. I don't see them ever cracking the Japanese market, but co-promoting guys like Murata is the next best thing.

GBP still controls the North American market, and their inroads with collecting top U.S. and Mexican talent is tough for the other promoters to compete with. It's a distinct competitive advantage. Controlling that market will always be profitable; but long term, they could be vulnerable if boxing were to decrease in popularity here or if they never patched things up with HBO (and I strongly believe the two sides will patch things up at some point).

Personally, GBP's the more stable play of the two as its market is already established, but Top Rank is positioning themselves to cash in big-time if their thesis plays out. It's the growth play if the two companies were stocks.

This gentlemen, Saensak Muangsurin, currently holds the world record for winning a world title in the fewest number of fights- 3 (and he really had one of the most remarkable starts to his career given that he racked up some defenses once he had it).

Lomachenko wants to eclipse not only Rigondeaux's notable achievement of winning a title in his 9th fight, but Muangsurin's world record as well.

I recall those Loma vs broner prediction threads a while back. With Lome starting at 126, it is unlikely they will ever cross paths. I am glad they both signed with TR although I was hoping for K2 but i also half expected them to stay amateur. Turning pro took a while andy one tends to think the worst during a lengthy process.
