I think it is a little more nuanced than this. Ali was last in his class in high school. But I think Ali was a good person. I don't think he was a hater. But I felt he was used by the NOI. You've probably seen Ali's "bluebirds want to be with other bluebirds" chat. I think he sincerely believed what he was saying, that people prefer, on the whole, to be around their own kind, their own people. Now, some will call that racist but I don't. I know what he meant and where he was coming from. He also talked about how he was attracted to black women and wanted his children to be from a black woman because he didn't want mixed kids and he said no white woman would ever understand him the way a black woman would.
