Lomachenko - the most overrated in professional boxing?

How could anyone say he's overrated? He's probably the most talented fighter since Mayweather. Yes, I know, Rigo. But Lomachenko did some Naseem Hamed **** last time, but with good defense.

Besides, Rigo is not exciting to watch. POINT BLANK. Lomachenko was in an entertaining as hell fight his last fight. That was a great fight and he reminded me of some of the old school fighters the way he was moving around the ring and picking his shots, reminiscent of Willy Pep.

Some of you have no eye for talent.

To be honest, nobody realls talks about him because Arum keeps feeding bums to him at the moment, as soon as they get him a top opponent people will be talking about him again. Arum is doing nothing but wasting his time at the moment.

 

Can't disagree with that, I don't like how Arum is handling any of his Eastern European fighters.
Doesn't his old ass realize he has to great talents (Loma and Gvozdyk) in front of his eyes? He's letting them go to waste.
One good year of his prime is now wasted, thank you very much Mr. Arum.
Easily two of their better fighters, not just prospect/young champions but fighters.

It sucks that Walters couldn't make weight, that would have been a fight that would have propelled his career in a big way. Loma haters think Loma fans are scared of that fight lol. Walters is a good fighter, but nothing Loma can't handle imo.

 

I read a lot of people say Loma gets a lot of hate but I don't see it. Care to share some examples?

Just because someone says he is not unbeatable doesn't mean they are hating.

 

If you can't see what is special about him then you don't know boxing, simple. He's a complete fighter, and there's a reason why fighters like Ward and Bradley have talked about wanting to get tips off him. There's a reason why Roy Jones has him as top 5 p4p already.

 

He definitely gets more hate than praise.

Mexicans especially don't seem to like him for some reason, I'm Mexican myself. My guess would be that since Salido has an official victory over him they feel like they could talk smack.

Nobody is unbeatable so why would I get offended because of that?

 

I don't see it on these boards. I don't know anyone who doesn't think he is best featherweight right now. How much more praise can you give a guy with a few wins?

 

There's no reason to hate him either, is there?
He's fought great competition for only having five fights, he seems to want to fight the best. If there was a good reason to dislike him then it wouldn't be a problem imo.

What's your definition of hate? Calling out people who claim he is an ATG despite only having a few wins is hate? Remember Dawson? Bute? Can we wait until fighter proves he is great before anointing him?

I know he has to work towards big achievements.

lmao, I didn't say you were saying any of that. My original point was what's your definition of hate because i don't see it on these boards. What I do see is some call out other when they say loma is a future ATG which was said on this very f*cking thread!!!

I don't blame you or anyone else for the behavior of others. I only responded to you because I disagree that he gets more hate than praise. I think he gets praise from pretty much everyone as I don't think anyone would disagree that loma is the best feather right now.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I see more people calling him a coward for not fighting Walters and for calling out Rigo. Wasn't Loma's team the ones pursuing the Walters fight to begin with? If Walters made weight, that would've been the fight we would be getting for November. Somehow they want to blame it on Loma for the fight not happening. How is it his fault that his future opponent didn't make weight? If anything Walters not making weight is hurting him. Now he wasted a whole year. As soon as he moves up we'll get that Walters fight. I remember people saying Rigo was going to easily beat him, but as soon as Loma calls him out (keep in mind that Rigo, Team, fans have been talking trash about Loma since last year) now all of the sudden the same people get offended once Loma responds with a challenge. "Oh why is he calling out a smaller fighter." LOL on twitter they're still talking trash, even though Rigo didn't accept the offer.

All I'm saying is that I don't see what the reason is to hate on Loma just yet (now hate may be the wrong word to use). If there was a good reason then so be it.
Also, no one (except the crazy fans I mentioned earlier) is saying people should be saying that Loma is an ATG right now, like you are making it out to be.

I will not allow someone calling him overrated, when he's not. I didn't say he was underrated either. He's not overrated or do you see people making threads about him all the time? I sure don't, if people made threads about him everyday saying how awesome and great he is or how he's an ATG this early, then yeah I would agree that's he's overrated.
A fighter that wants to challenge himself like Loma definitely has my respect.

Stop playing the violin Rigo was willing to move to 126 but with a cap of 134 max Loma responded with a cap of 62.5 kilos which is almost 138 lbs that was the reason for closing the negotiation.
