Lomachenko is an idiot for listening to his manager and Arum. What was the point of rushing for a title like he did? Loma's stardom and income in the long run will be reduced due to a loss so early in his career; not to mention he may have lost his confidence and momentum.

There are differences between the pros and amateurs. Look at Rigo who has been stunned and hit the canvas. The difference is Rigo gradually applied his amateur skills to the pro game.

I'm not sure how Loma can recover without very slowly building up his career again. He was gun shy before and will be more so now. He does not have the power to keep his opponents off of him and does not counter punch well. I hope he comes back well but don't see him becoming the super star everyone wanted.

1)This wasn't forced on Lomachenko; he wanted it.

2)He also got much more comfortable as the fight wore on. It took him too long to adjust in-fight, but this wasn't a case of a fast starter who got broken down and exposed. His confidence grew as the fight went on.

    3) Why on earth would he go back to fighting weak competition? He's a top 10 Featherweight right now. You seem to really be underestimating his mental resolve. This isn't a pampered, coddled prospect who will shatter at the first sign of adversity.

Isn't this what happened on Saturday? I suggest he builds his experience because boxing was supposed to be this guy's profession for the next decade. If this guy pisses his career away, what else will he do? I wish him the best and hope he doesn't pull another David Price.

top 10 sfw??? i dont know about that...amatures vs pros does not rank together..his doing in the amature stays there and does not get carried over so i dont know how you can rated him top 10 yet.. near future yes, but now, no.

    Loma's an arrogant idiot.
They say, he insisted on the fight.

This won't ruin his career. I think he will have a long and rich career as a contender, and may a short term belt holder.
Making those type of decisions, he likely won't reach to ATG status.

LOL! Next, he'll be insisting on fighting Mikey Garcia.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

So now he is David Price after losing a close fight against a guy that didn't even try and make weight? :patsch

Price was KOed because he has no Chin. If Loma had any Chin issues it would have been exposed on Saturday. If he was more aggressive the first 4 rounds we wouldn't even be talking about this. Why are people acting like he suffered a devastating KO and his career is over?

You're talking as if he got smoked in that fight...I wouldn't jump the gun and say his career is over.

He fought a Champion calibre fighter and lost a close one. Must mention he fought one of the dirtiest out there.
Headbutter, elbow and low blow puncher. Salido is a slimy fighter that had
an enabler Ref on his side!!!

I believe Lomachenco handled himself well and will only improve!!!

I probably shouldn't have used the word dumped but I'm saying more that he may have possibly hurt his career. We won't know the severity of his loss (hopefully he didn't get mentally damaged too much) until the next fight but he surely has lost some PPV drawing power and potential income for future fights.

And no offense if you go accept and fight someone who didn't make weight and you didn't write in the contract for a re hydration clause, there are no excuses if you lose on fight night.

I do hope Loma bounces back since he's dedicated his whole life to this sport and I would hate to see him lose it all. He looked devastated post fight so hopefully his confidence was not shattered.

He faced low blow adversity and didn't adapt.

Salido must've been on the verge of knocking himself out by the 12th then. Thanks for clarifying that.

I can guarantee that in a couple of years time all this talk of his career being over etc will be looked back on as hilarious. He lost a close split decision to a world champ in his 2nd fight, that shows his potential. Imagine what he'll be like in his 10th or 20th pro fight.

We hear this EVERY time a fighter loses 'there's no way back' 'his career is over'...that has almost never been the case.

It was always going to be a huge gamble. Credit for taking the risk however. Also, this loss is not why his career might never break through. It's the fact that he looked pretty lacklustre that worries me. I don't see a great pro career in him.

No negative impact at all. In fact, he will now be better. If not for the cheating by Saldio, Lomachenko wins easily.
