Well until he actually goes pro and does something we're only guessing. Plenty of top amateurs did NOTHING as pros.
And way more succeeded in the pros. This isn't your average prospect or gold medallist either. It's a safe a bet as you can get, it would be shocking if he didn't dominate.
We will. Look at Rigo, only 11 fights in and he has a far more limited, amateur style than Lomachenko, he wasn't as dominant and he turned pro far later than Lomachenko is going to. Lomachenko is legit.
He is very agressive but doesnt have a pop, i dont think this combination is a good thing for pro boxing..
Gamboa would get gtfo against Broner. Gamboa didnt fight whole 3.00 in the rounds, hands down, chin up and so on. Too arrogant. Broner will hit him eventually and with that style and his chin i would not put my money on Gamboa.
Really? 1:18, 2:33 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny9zXtHNTlk 3:59 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJbUu7rTqRg 1:52 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyLDAwB1sXo 4:35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhV3Xoxo94Q Not to mention knockdowns in 2 of his 3 WSB contests, where the competition is high. He has plenty of power.
Gamboa has been hit with some flush power shots by good punchers and he's never been out, I'm not sure that Broner could put him away if he does manage to land shots. Broner needs to plant his feet and find his rhythm before landing big punches, I don't think he'd ever find it against Gamboa. I don't know why Broner is wasting time fighting Malignaggi, he needs to step it up.
Let's see... Lomachenko has pretty much never lost. A perennial world champ. Demonstrates levles of class far above his opponents even in Olympic bouts. Broner arguably lost to Ponce De Leon, and has since beaten Escobedo, Litzau, Rees, and Demarco, while enjoying a tremendous size advantage over most of these guys. There's no comparison at this point. Lomachenko is dominating the best competition he can find, while Broner is cherrypicking and occasionally struggling with smaller, inferior fighters. It's ridiculous to include Broner in a p4p discussion at this point, he just isn't there.
If Lomachenko deserves props in the pros for what he has done as an amateur, than Rigondeaux should be P4P #1.
You know who else has 3 amateur world titles? Odlanier Solis And he struggled against a washed up NFL player at the weekend
Do I have to name all the Amateur stars that didnt make it? Until the guy goes pro,Ive no idea whats hes like as a pro. Audley Harrison and Michael Carruth both won Olympic golds, I could easily name others. Canelo,Pacquiao,Marquez and MARTINEZ had extremely undistinguihsed amateur careers. I could name a LOT more. Out of the top 10 p4p at the moment, most had average at best amateur careers.
