He's made more money than he needs from the Ukraine government, been given nice cars and has made boxing one of the most popular sports in the Ukraine. You'd take paper titles against B grade opponents while imitating another fighter?
Lomachenko is turning pro this year anyway, he'll be signing up for far more money than Broner could've ever dreamed of when turning pro. You won't have to wait long to eat your words and see what a true boxing genius is. I'll make sure I bump this thread for you :yep

    You just proved YDKSAB.

The list of Cubans and Soviets that didn't turn pro who had skills and accomplishments out their arse is pages long.

Tony Thompson didnt have any amateur career to speak of and KO'd an Olympic medallist.

Martinez had nearly no amateur career.

Martin Rogan started boxing around the age of 30 and beat an Olympic gold medalist in Audley Harrison.

Pacquiao has nearly no amateur career.

Until they do something at pro, you just dont know.

No one else would fight Broner at 135 blame Burns and Vasquez for not wanting to fight him. Paulie is a world class fighter he's not a bum he's won titles at two weights you're acting like he's fighting a can in his next fight. He's fighting a seasoned pro titleholder. Meanwhile Loma is busy hiding in the ams too shook to turn pro.

Back in teh old days, maybe, but nearly any decent Cubans from teh mid 90s onwards.defected.

Russians go pro all the time these days.

Off the top of my head, these Cubans have gpne pro in recent years
    Odlanier Solis
    Mike Perez
    Yoan Hernandez
    Alex Collado
    Guillermo Rigeoundeauc
    Joel Casamayor
    Yuroirkis Gamboa
    Luis Garcia
    Richard Abril
    Yan Bartelemi
    Yordanis Despaigne
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Luis Ortiz

    etc etc

Because of all these defections, the Cubans arent even that strong at amateur level anymore.

They defect the first chance they get

No he won't Broner is already a network star and is already paid. Loma will have to come to the US if he wants to get paid just like everyone else.:deal What class will he be fighting at? I would take Gary Russell Jr. a prospect to beat the **** outta another prospect in Loma. BTW I would love to see you bump it because most of these amateurs don't do **** in the pros anyway.

Everyone knows Paulie is a non threatening guy to test yourself against, every half decent fighter Paulie has fought has beaten him, he's not world class. Again, titles mean nothing in the pro game today.
Gamboa wanted Broner but Broner wanted nothing to do with him, if Broner beat Gamboa then nobody would doubt him and he'd be a superstar. Broner never even entertained taking that fight, he knows he's not on that level yet.
Lomachenko is fighting 5 round pro rules contests against good opposition, and he's already said he's turning pro officially in the states later this year. It won't be too long until you feel stupid for doubting Lomachenko, just be patient.

 Have you even seen Lomachenko? He fights with a pro style already, think Mike tyson offensively and Pernell Whitaker defensively. I'm not even joking or exaggerating, that's how he fights. Lomachenko is nowhere near the average amateur, he makes other medallists look like novices.
He's been chased by Golden Boy and Top Rank for the last couple of years, he's turning pro in the US to make big bank from day one. Just wait and see :yep

Was Tony Thompson a GREAT Aamateur?
    Was Donaire a GREAT amateur?
    Was Bradley a GREAT amateur?
Was Mikey Garcia a GREAT amateur?
Was Eddie Chambers a great amateur?

Even Floyd only wion a bronze at teh Olympics, he wasnt some superstar at amateur level.

The last guy from America to win an olympic gold was Ward, yet they still produce great pros

Yes I know he has a bob and weave style I've seen video of him. With that said he hasn't done anything as a pro we've all been down this road before with great amateur fighters who turn pro and don't live up to the hype. All I'm saying is prove it and people like yourself who put down proven guys just to prop up your own who is unproven as a pro are in the wrong.

    Ease up, bro.

No one likes Loma more than I do but you're getting a little out of hand, here. Broner is a proven commodity. Now I do believe that Loma will be an exceptional pro, likely a P4Per.

As of yet, however, he remains a fighter with great potential.

Moroever, your assertions that an American must have a great amatuer pedigree to have professional success because former American fighters followed that path reflects a mindset that is stuck in the past.

Kids want bling now, and if that means skipping the amatuer/Olympic scene, they will.

To assert that Broner will not be an outstanding fighter because of his suspect amatuer resume is absurd.

Hoopsman knows the score, I am a huge fan of Lomachenko but we will have to wait and see. He looks incredible against current competition(which is actually reasonably good for this stage in his career) but Broner is clearly further along with his career.
