Hes now mandatory for Lomachenko's WBA belt, this fight happens it will be an epic mismatch. Could Crolla even win a round vs Lomachenko ? Loma's speed, timing, footwork will make Crolla look stuck in the mud, nice bloke Crolla and had a great career but he will be cannon fodder for Loma.
According to the sky team he’d do ok. Again, not one of them would openly say that he’s got no chance. You know, he’s only the best boxer on earth, like.
I really like Crolla, made the most of his talent and ability. His last few fights have shown me he's declining now though. He beat Yordan by old manning him, experience and holding a bit. And Yordan was just doing the same thing and also not in his prime. It's clear Crolla has lost the snap/energy he had back 5 or 6 fights ago. He's been in too many wars and it's caught up with him now imo. Won't be begrudge him one last payday but depending who he fights I can see him getting stopped potentially.
Another over achiever. Done exceptionally well to carve out his career for himself the way it’s gone. However, he doesn’t hear the 6th bell against Loma.
Pathetic miss match, but if he can blag a payday Fair play to Crolla. I doubt I will bother to watch this massacre myself.
Just hope Crolla does'nt get hurt in this fight, he is going to ship a lot of punishment. How are they going to market this one as a PPV ? I am assuming it is. But i cant see how a one sided beat down can appeal to the PPV fans as a main event slot. Bellew vs Usyk was one thing but this fight is a much bigger mismatch, i guess they think its worth the risk money wise.
A complete mismatch but it's not his fault. He can only get the himself into a mandatory position and doing that has to fight Lomo. You can't become mando and refuse to to fight a champion. Thats even worse. At least he will get well paid for taking a beating.
It wouldn't be on PPV. Purse bids would see either the fight happening on a top rank card or matchroom USA on DAZN.
Well I'm assuming Sky will have this on PPV so they are not going to tell the truth and say "Crolla is going to get paid very well but he is going to get embarrassed and beaten up"
Fair point i never really thought of it in that context, but you wonder why they are pursuing the WBA route if they know thier man will take a one sided beating from Loma ?
There's also a good chance Loma vacates and Crolla picks up the belt against this guy http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/468863 who's ranked number 3 at the moment.
I thought Crolla v Campbell was gonna be made but Campbell is in a good position for Garcia vacating and then he has a shot at the title.
