Apart from a bag of PPV loot for Crolla, the fight serves zero purpose or interest.

Toe Haye v Bellew x2 and Pudding Whyte v Pudding Chisora has lowered the bar to the floor - anything goes now on PPV.

When i try and visualise this fight i keep thinking of Lee Purdy vs Devon Alexander with Purdy totally outclassed, marching forward with his hands ups and Alexander unloading a barage of shots.

Crolla’s boxed himself into a mandatory position and in the twilight of his career this will be a nice pension fund. Added to that, a lot of fighters despite being woefully out of their depth want to fight elite level fighters. How many boxers have we heard saying that they’d wished they’d shared a ring with Cotto? It’s an honour for some to test themselves against the very best.

Crolla likes to step in and out with his jab and moves back in straight lines with a high guard so stylistically he’s not difficult to figure out. However, his high work rate, engine and experience will see that he make it past the midway point before being stopped with a ‘brave’ effort.

Good on him, and it will be a nice introduction for Lomachenko to a British casual audience.

Odds released on this from a couple of bookmakers already, both state:

    Loma 1/100
    Crolla 20/1
    Draw 1/33

    Generous odds for Crolla there.

He isn't getting near Loma... but so what?

He's earned a his shot by becoming mandatory and the bloke will earn a good payday whilst being able to say he shared the ring with someone who in all likelihood will go down as a modern great.

    Good luck to Crolla.

Hilarious, someone should show this to the pundits at Sky.

    Crolla wins because of ‘intangibles’.

Crolla has a style that will make Lomachenko shine, it's up to Loma whether he wants a highlight reel KO or not.

Loma hopefully has bigger fish to fry. I second those saying Crolla has no chance.
His payday can hopefully come from a competitive vacant title bout, maybe even against domestic comp in front of a large Manc crowd.
Let's pretend Loma doesn't exist, get him a plodder/past it name, win a world trinket, shuffle along son, house paid for, kids future etc etc

Can't see this happening. If Loma fought Crolla after this meh fight with Pedraza then he would get shredded.

This will absolutely happen. It could potentially be Loma’s biggest payday so far and it introduces him to the British casual boxing public. Just to add, Crolla has operated at world level for a number of years. He’s a very good boxer with solid fundamentals across the board in his own right.

One thing is guaranteed, unlike Rigondeaux, Marriaga, Walters and Sosa, he won’t quit no matter how much of a beatdown he gets. He’ll keep going, bite down on the gumshield and try to find a way to land.
