Depends on the manner in which he loses....

If Loma schools him - which I think he will - then Lopez will be looked upon as another Buster Douglas.

If it's competitive then he is still a name - like Andy Ruiz - and can steal a pay day or two before failing to motivate himself again.

I am of the latter opinion.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Lightning strikes all the time.

It's not Loma's shoulder injury or a bad game plan that costed him the fight, it's just that Lopez gave him issues stylistically. Loma can try and open up his offense more in the early rounds but he also opens up himself for counters during exchanges like in round 12 and like against Linares. Lopez is not somebody thats just going to let Loma tee off on him.

    It's a 50/50 fight

If he loses to Loma in a rematch he will be fine. He's like 23 fights in an "exciting style" and probably will have trilogy with Loma. If not he can fight the other names at 135 or move up and challenge 140. Lopez will be fine either way.

OR... He'll just look like a top boxer who lost. The comparisons to other boxers you used aren't very apt. BOTH guys came off their world title wins terribly obese in their next bouts. I don't think Teo is going to ever look like that.

Buster had busted Mike down unlike Lopez vs Loma, where Lopez won decision in very close fight, regardless from Lopez fans opinions in manner like Lopez maybe even had dropped Loma down each round and had KTFOed Loma. " kicked ass ", " cry " etc casual rude aka latinothings.
Lol, he looked not better than Linares vs Loma per se. Ofc until Loma landed on Linares a liver punch.
