Loma vs el terrible: who wins this fight? Does that "blood and guts " stuff work against loma? And equally, two boxers who take that halfstep or full step back? Juan Manuel Marquez or George kambosos, who wins? Anywhere between 126 to 135 for Erik/matrix and 135 for ferocious/ dynamita. Just a question.
I'm going to pick Morales against Loma. His first fight against Pacquiao (as well as his second, to a lesser extent) give me the impression that Lomachenko is not dangerous enough to keep Morales off him, and he will inevitably fight on the back foot, where he is not quite as capable. Marquez would punch Kambosos's face off, he would literally have no face after the fight.
I still think Loma is a very good fighter. I think he’s not a modern lightweight and should really be competing down at super feather and he’s been at significant size disadvantages against the two lightweights he lost to (who are both now competing higher up) so at least if he faced El Terrible he’d be facing off against someone who would be a similar size to him. But I’d have to go with Morales for the win at either 126 or 130. JMM v Kambosos? I really don’t see any way this goes other than a JMM win. A 36-year-old Loma just stopped Kambosos and Marquez was a guy who rose above his natural weight later in his career to win the lightweight title against bigger fighters than him, so size wouldn’t be a factor here, just the wide gulf in class. A stoppage is very likely, too. I think JMM v Loma would be a decent matchup too with Marquez taking it on points.
