I can agree with this. I think Loma beats him, but in a tough fight. JJL had the bad luck (Or is it?) of fighting in a era where there were a lot of excellent LW fighters coming through his division. Nothing but love for JJL! Class act all the way!
And? It´s actually perfect. Leija showed holes that Loma could definitely exploit. Shane wasn't at his best during his LW run.
I am never the guy to say that the oldschool fighters are gods and new fighters are not as good, but at 135 Mosley wins handily. Shane had massive power, blinding speed and superb reflexes that made up for a poor defense. Shane had a rock solid chin and at times had some funky angles that set up that chopping right sledgehammer. Mosley was never a counter puncher, but he did throw as the other fighter would throw and he won a lot of those exchanges.
Leija took a beating and wanted no mas. Shane always had suspect defense...but he was willing to take them knowing what he was giving was always better and he could walk through punches at 135. It's not like he lost to Salido or something.
Jesus ****. I just pointed out some weaknesses Leija was able to exploit. Are you saying Loma is on the same level as Leija? I literally did a breakdown of what I think Loma could do to Shane and made a half assed film study... yet all you managed to conjure up was "Leija took a beating".
Shane fought at lightweight in the late 90s. If you consider the 90s group "old school" then I question your age.
What? What was simple about it? Leija exploited a lot of Shanes flaws that I showcased. How else are you supposed to predict fights?
Mosley does have flaws but @ LW he was a beast and he only started losing when he moved up. Loma doesn't have the size advantage that Forrest or Wright had when they fought Mosley. Loma may give Mosley some problem early on but I think Mosley's speed and explosiveness will catch up to Loma eventually and either stops Loma late or wins by UD.
