Naseem was not in good shape in that fight. I like Barrera a lot, but that is not a good fight to use as a measuring stick. I would have loved to see any of these fights. The way Loma is right now I could see him beating all of them, but in tiem the mystic of Loma may wear off and I may have to change my opinion.
There is a good argument to be made that Morales circa 2001, 2002 was THE best p4p fighter in the world.
Loma outboxes Marquez. Barrera pressures Loma and maybe scores the KO. Morales is too long, too skilled and too strong.
I don't think we should overrate Loma at this stage. Style makes fight. I don't think morales would have problem with salido Martinez or Walter
I think it is a good example...no one thought Brarrera could win...and the Prince was undefeated both fighters were 27 and in Prime condition...Naseem could not handle a fighter who did not let Him dictate the fight...something the Prince usually done in every fight.!!!!
He shouldn't, but he'd make a brawl out of all of those fights which would make it tougher. The Salido fight is weird for Loma since Salido was much bigger AND fought very dirty. That's really a technicians worst nightmare. The way Lomachenko fights is basically to box in the most effective way in the confines of the rules of boxing. You break those rules and your chances skyrocket against him. Lomachenko just wasn't used to something like that.
If Naseem was on form for that fight and during training for that fight, then yeah we could totally cite this as evidence for Barrera's greatness. But he wasn't. A win over the Prince Naseem that showed up that night is the same as a win over a past their prime shot fighter.
All I need to do is look at the Raheem fight to see that boxers give him problems. Loma would most likely outbox him worst than zahir.
For sure those will get their licks in against morales, because morales is just not as naturally talented as lomachenko. I think a good pressure fighter can give loma nightmares.
I think the Zahir fight mostly shows that Morales was too small for 135. His best weight was 126 where he was fighting smaller and weaker men.
Very possible, although should be noted that the Raheem fight was at lightweight, and although he won the first pac fight, that fight took a lot out him and he never regain the form again. Hey I also think Loma beat the trio.
It's lightweight yes, but it's also the same style but even better. 5 pounds isn't going to make a difference when that particular style troubles morales to begin with.
I don't think you read me correctly, I never said morales might beat Loma. As for the Raheem morales fight, it was still a close fight.
