Incredible display by Vasyl against a genuine world class fighter.

It was somewhat competitve early on, until the 5th though Loma won all the rounds anyway. Afterwards it was all Lomachenko. Walters could do nothing and quit after the 7th.

    Discuss!

Kinda felt there wasn't a real competitive moment in the fight. Statement from Loma.

For the love of all that is holy, please fight Guillermo Rigondeaux.

I'd unapologetically kill any 3 of you to watch that fight.

That might be the greatest performance that you will see in that weight class, ever.

If this fight is being brought up in regards to the virtuoso performance by Lomachenko, I think we should also discuss the termination of the fight. I have seen a number of posts all over about this fight. some calling it a quit job and some saying "do you want to see another Benny Kid Paret". Well, IMO this wasn't even remotely in that vein. Years ago they would have held up Walters purse for that kind of bail-out. I don't feel there was any kind of beating, just an out-classing. At the end of that last round I said aloud 'he's going to quit on his stool'. Look at his face if there is a replay on youtube as he returns to his corner. I expected more from Walters with all his impressive numbers and his smart-arse ad of him carving up Lomachenko like a turkey dinner and for his hold-out for more money like he was the one people were coming to see. I expected more. And I don't know if anyone caught his excuse after the fight. He actually had the gall to blame HBO for not getting him more fights so he could have been more active. So it's their fault?! Years ago Duran and Galindez fought a lot of non-titles to stay active and earn another - albeit smaller - payday. How times have changed. Walters needs to find another line of business.

Am trying not to become a hopeless fan boy but after last night that is difficult. That was next level ****. Amazing in so many facets... and meaningful because it happened against a top level opponent .

I generally agree with you. All I will add is that Loma was rocking him hard in the final round. Walters was stalling and hanging on to Loma. His legs were starting to betray him. The end seemed to be coming soon.

That said, he always had a puncher's chance and should have given a not her round... tho I am not sure he would have seen the end of it.
