Do y'all think Lomachenko is actually in combat and shooting and killing Russians?

No they wouldn't risk someone famous getting killed. it's bad for propoganda and morale. No different to previous wars.

Isn't his town pretty far away from the actual invasion?

He is in Odessa isn't he?

That only getting indiscriminately bombed at the moment, no heavy fighting.

Berinchyk posted a few videos of himself mostly helping with logistics and humanitarian stuff. I'd imagine that's what Loma would be doing aswell for now.

I'd guarantee he'd beat the **** out of any Russian who tried some hand to hand combat with him

They probably use these athletes for propaganda/morale, mingle with and encourage the troops, do some helping out behind the battle lines.
It's still more dangerous than being Wlad in the Kiev palace, but I highly doubt any of these people are truly taking up arms.
Usyk will probably explain what he was up to over there if asked.

What I find amusing is that before the war, all these boxers were the biggest ''bad asses'' to people and could destroy any man on the street, and as soon as real war starts we find out what has always been obvious, that hand-to-hand fighting means zero in genuine conflict. They are just helpless civilians and targets for industrial weaponry. Any old farmer with more firearm experience is deadlier than any trained MMA fighter or boxer. Even that Serbian female sniper killed 40 men. So maybe now we've seen these boxers in combat zones we can finally stop pretending they are hero warriors who ''put their lives on the line'' every time they step into the ring. It's plainly laughable in contrast with people actually fighting in war.

So your saying, someone with a gun can take someone without? Revolutionary thinking.

Very enlightening. But Loma has always been too feather fisted to take down a tank. Maybe Usyk could have a chance if he was able to hurt a lab-grown human-lizard godzilla Joshua

they put their lives on the line, it doesn't mean they are heroes, dunno whoever said that?

Usyk himself said that boxing is child's play in comparison with war, nobody is thinking another way. What do you think that pro boxers who train whole their life to box will now take rifles and become the badest berserk killers on the front? The best thing that they can do for the country is to box and show the world the struggle that their country is going through, sport is always the best ambassador in these situations.

It would be plain stupid for them to take weapons, go to the front and die in the first action..

    yo
You're. I'm very surprised that someone making such snide comments, can't spell simple third grade words properly. Talk about revolutionary thinking.

I think it will be like the Joe Louis situation they will use him for propaganda and moral and take photos of him and let him give speeches but he won’t actually fight. The last thing Ukraine want is one of their favourite sons dying.
