Questions have now been raised about just how sturdy - or shaky - it is. What do folks think? Will it prove to be granite....or glass?
It's not iron, but it doesn't seem to be glass. It's hard to say, there needs to be more thorough research on this subject!
Well its obviously not glass since linares is a bigger guy with good power. Lomachenko shook off the cobwebs and took care of business. His chin is at least a 7/10 so far. At the very least he has good recovery.
If Loma had a suspect chin it would have been exposed long before now. A record of 407-2, including pros and amateurs, tells you all you need to know.
We have no idea as we've never seen him properly knocked down, as in his legs failing him and him being unable to stand. He was knocked down last night in the sense that if someone punches you straight in the face as you walk towards them, you'll be thrown back and fall over. It wasn't a question of chin, it was simple physics. He did, however, stay well out of range for the remaining ten seconds, so it's possible he was hurt.
That's my assessment right now. But like others have said, we need more data to draw a firm conclusion on the matter.
Oh Jesus H Christ son, never properly knocked down? He was properly knocked down last night, he was on the seat of his pants after a good straight right hand. That was NOT a flash knockdown nor a slip, it was a knockdown from a blow. Similar to Marquez/Pacquiao 4 in the 3rd round.
The punch last night that knocked him down did not even touch his skin so why raising a question about his chin?
Joe Calzaghe-esque. Very solid chin. With that style, he'll be susceptible to balance shots/flash knockdowns from time to time, but his elite level of conditioning will have him back up quickly. I think you'd need a guy with a serious size advantage to put him on the deck and keep him there
People will say Oscar was knocked down against quartey but Loma wasn't properly knocked down by linares? Lol
