I would be suprised and disappointed if Vasyl wasn't fighting for a title within 2 years of going pro. He'll be a Champ by 27. You watch Usyk?
What people don't seem to understand is that it's far more dangerous to be aggressive as a southpaw against an orthadox opponent than it is to be aggressive as an orthadox fighter against an orthadox fighter. That's why fights against southpaws are usually so boring, especially when one of the fighters is a skilled opponent. Look at the fight between Rigo and Donaire. If Donaire got aggressive against Rigo, he would take punishment. Granted, Lomenchenko does have a good aggressive defense, but it is still dangerous to be aggressive against a skilled southpaw due to the akward distance created by stances. So don't get too high on this guy just yet. If he was a tall, lanky, fast southpaw with skill, that's another story, but even then, guys like that can't draw flies to **** because they are usually boring as hell.
He's in a completely different league to this top fighter in Medzhidov..unpredictable and very elusive. Very solid at dissipating the power of Medzhidov's shots. His footwork is boss. I see this guy getting very far and lasting in the game for a very long time.

Thanks man! He'll definitely be a better puncher as a pro. Very very polished. 130-135 is weak. With a good promoter, he could have a world title shot within a year. Very very good fighter.
No doubt! I have never seen Magomedrasul Mexhidov fight like that. usyk basically neutered that bull, even appeared to shake him with a bodyshot. OH WAIT, SORRY; I keep forgeting we are not allowed to hype amateurs. Perhaps I can catch a replay of Fury's latest fight on youtube to remind me of how much gap there is between these amateurs and seasoned pros like Fury. atsch In all seriousness; It is pretty cool how Usyk is now getting mentioned with regularity in Loma's threads.
first fight I watched. Crazy good. What's impressed me the most is how he teleports hims self at 90 degrees around his opponent to open the angles.
I thought Usyk had him stunned near the end of the 4th with that left cross that literally knocked Medzhidov back a couple feet. He landed two nice left straights in the 5th too. Usyk showed alot of talent in the 2008 Olympics but he wasn't quite polished yet. Since 2009 when he started working with Anatoliy and Vasyl he's improved and fulfulling his potential now.
Do you think he's going to have a championship fight in his debut? Even in his first year? It's pretty rare for a boxer to get a championship fight before their 20th fight. There are exptions, and maybe Lomachenko is one of them. If he's not and the odds are not in his favor. He'll be 29-30 before his first championship fight and may not get into the really big time til he' 33-35. Had he turned pro after the 2008 games. He could be among the best in the world. There is a less likelyhood that he will when he's 33-35.
