Lomachenko's Manager Responds Back To Team Rigondeaux

    Klimas then responded shortly afterwords - "Egis Klimas does not fight in the ring, Egis Klimas is not making a fight, Egis Klimas has promoters who are making a fight. Rigondeaux and his team knows Top Rank's number. If Top Rank will come to me and say Rigondeaux is ready to fight then I will approve that fight together with Lomachenko." The highly regarded Ukrainian is scheduled to fight in August but is looking for a suitable opponent. "If they're going to come, Top Rank, and they're going to say,'they want to fight' and make a deal with Top Rank, Top Rank will come back to us and we will approve the fight. I don't have any problems," said Klimas, who reiterated - "I don't go and fight and train, I don't make the fight That's what we have promoters for but if they want to come in and fight at 130 - we have no problem. We will be very happy. "If they make the August date, we're very happy to fight Rigondeaux."

    Lets see what Roc Nation will do. Is Jay-Z gonna back his guy ??
    Arum wont give Rigo no money, we all know the reasons why, but Hova has very deep pockets

    Rigo didn't want to move up to 126 to fight Lomachenko 1-2 years ago, he wanted the fight at 124. Now we're supposed to believe that he would move up to 130, jumping 2 divisions?

    well Klimas just gave the absolutely perfect response

    it was constructive, as well as clear and direct, plus it makes Rigo's team look like posers if all they do is continue making statements through the media

    in essence Klimas just told Rigo's people: look--we're in...so there's nothing more to be done on Twitter; if you are serious, you know what the next step is, and it's not sending another Tweet. Then once our respective promoters meet, ours will contact me and "we will approve the fight"

    I guess I'm naive, but I really thought boxing managers had a more active role in negotiations, that they repped their guy throughout in discussions with the promoters to get the most satisfactory deal. It sounds like Klimas is saying a manager just holds his boxer's hand when he signs the contract.

    Just going to say this. First it's come to 130. Now it's okay I don't make the fight, call top rank. Just saying. All good, we'll get the full story later but I don't think bob wants lightning to strike twice with Rigo and another one of his hopefuls. The irony would be too much.

    Pretty much, it seems Rigo and his team are not capable of moving on beyond Twitter, the 'Lara' syndrome.

    I'd imagine for Rigo to go to 130 he'll demand a lot more money cos of the sacrifices he's making. Everyone knows hes a small guy.
