I would say he has his own style, that is based heavily on leg work but unlike khan, also involves a great deal of static defence and head movement.
Nowadays, there really isnt as much difference in amateur/pro styles. They have to fight a little hectically at amateur because they only have a few rounds to impress. Thats why you see problems with Lomas pacing at times.
 atsch Utter nonsense. If anything, amateur boxing over the last 25 years has been influenced negatively because of the scoring system. It's just since recent times that amateur boxing will start to look more like pro boxing because they went back to the 10-point-must system.
Exactly so now amateur and pro boxing are similiar...whats your problem again? I said amateur and pro boxing are practically the same nowadays....you say "utter nonsense" before finishing up with saying that amateur boxing now looks like pro boxing. :huh
i'm probably going to be alone on this one....but boxing is boxing. a jab in the amateurs is the same as a jab in the pros. a cross in the amateurs is the same as a cross in the pros. etc...etc... the only thing that changes is the length of the match which affects overall strategy and tactics. especially now with out the headgear.
i respect his skill more then his athletic abilities. some fast and explosive fighters are still corny like berto corny ass or even khan corny ass. i just wish guys like loma were natural 147 pound fighter.
