Worst thing is he ran his big mouth before the fight, then he refused to give Loma any credit for whopping his ass in his (GRJ's) country with a US ref and 3 US judges, then he made a bunch of excuses afterwards and got caught lying about one of them, and he still to this day refuses to give Loma any credit and is lying through those tombstone-sized teeth of his.

 Ya he's been totally ungraceful in defeat. And he got his ASS WHOOPED. No way possible was it a MD, that was a cooked card.

“I expect 2015 will be a very big year for me. I want to fight for another world title, win it, and then immediately challenge Lomachenko to a unification fight. I believe if we fight again I will win. In fact I feel if we fought 100 times, I would beat him in 99 of them.’

    --Gary Russell Jr.

lol I love it when he said that Lomachenko is ''going to have to see me again'' as if for some inexplicable reason Loma would be in the least bit worried about that. The amount of clowns I've seen who believed or managed to convince themselves that Loma was worried about Rigo is comical too.

I'll be honest, up until fight day I was worried about a Rigo KO/TKO win, but fight day, right before I got banned for foul language, I said Loma TKO 5. Not gonna lie, I'm downright head over heals in love with the style a lot of these Ukrainians and Russians are bringing to the table, but I get worried sometimes before big fights that they just won't have it on the inside. Loma is the lone exception, you can tell all he is about is winning. Loma's a DOG.

Yes. A lot of people picked Rigo, more picked Loma but most people thought it was going to be very competitive or at least way more competitive than it ended up being. But pretty much no one predicted that Rigo would barely be able to land a clean head shot (he might have landed a couple but I don't recall anything of note). Loma absolutely toyed with him. It's amazing how good defensively he is for such an offensive fighter.

It's mind boggling how unbelievable he is and how much of a genius his father is. Just think about all the time you have to put towards boxing, and not only that, but most people have a defined cap to how good they can get, like no matter how much work you put in you just can't mentally get to the next level. This kid has just stormed through the levels like it's nothing.

Growing up I never could put in as much time as I wanted, I was a very competitve basketball and American football player but always loved boxing more. But when I went to the gym I had to be careful, my mother said flat out I wasn't boxing anymore if I ever got dropped or took a bad beating so always had to play it safe until I was out of the house.

Yeah he's a very special talent and his father has obviously done an outstanding job moulding him to the fighter he is.

Maybe you'd be a boxing phenom too if your mother or father had the same dream for you as Loma's dad had for him lol

 I wish brother. Physically and athletically I was very gifted but mentally I just wasn't fast enough, but could usually exploit my physical advantages. I don't know how big IB is or you or some of the other guys around here who have really good boxing minds, but if any of you were near my weight class (LHW) I'd have been in big trouble and playing checkers while you guys would be hammering me at chess.

I've sparred with a lot of very good boxers - even a little with Edwin Rodriguez and Chad Dawson, and hate to say it, the Boston Bomber *******. Rodriguez and Dawson mentally were just on a whole different level. The Bomber kid - and I really ****ing hate the kid - he could actually CRACK, but was a huge ***** and couldn't handle return fire.

The four best boxers from the Boston are I ever saw, unfortunately, all ofour of them got hooked on heroin and crack cocaine and turned into nothing but jail/prison inmates. Absolute shame.

Pretty sure IB said he planned on campaigning at junior-flyweight.

Gvozdyk is LHW Loma and Usyk is CW Loma so you'd have to slim down to SMW or bulk up to HW lol

Cool that you got to share a ring with Dawson and Rodriguez, Dawson was a very talented boxer and a really good fighter in his prime and Rodriguez is tough, exciting two-fisted puncher albeit he's way too reckless.

lol I was racking my brains trying to work out who the Boston Bomber was. I thought it was the moniker of a famous fighter but then it dawned on me who you were talking about after about 30-40 seconds. Rodriguez sparred with that scumbag too.

That is a shame, I'm sure most boxers knew guys they came up with or from their areas who were blessed with an abundance of natural talent but never fulfilled their potential due to a lack of discipline, dedication, or from falling in with the wrong crowd or being seduced by drink and drugs or a life of crime.
