Even though he got the wins against Linares and Pedraza, Loma has evidently been the much smaller man in the ring. What do you believe his natural weight class to be? Featherweight or Super Featherweight?

He should be no higher than 130.

For the crazy talent many claim he possess, why are you limiting him to 130????

He's the same size physically as both fmj and pac so he has no excuse at 5'7" upper 140's on fight night, which is exactly what he measures to be.
Fmj was gifted with longer reach than most even inch or two taller than his 5'7" while his immense talents let him dominate 147 and beat the best of 154. Fmj was tiny at 147 but talents make up for lack of size and or lack of tools, physical tools

Pac was gifted with legs that turn him into a wrecking ball and physical ability out of this world. That was done on his 5'6.5" body with each similar to Loma.

If Loma can't compete and dominate up to and possibly through 140/47 I don't ever a want to hear he's considered one of the greatest talents ever

He is one of the greatest talents ever already, his amateur record of 400 wins and 1 defeat and what he's done in 13 pro fights which no one else has ever done before indicates he is a great talent. Keep wishing and hoping hater.

He should just concentrate on becoming the greatest Featherweight to Super Featherweight ever by far.

He's definitely too small for Lightweight, everyone can see that. Egis Klimas said that in an interview. But he's such a A* level talent he's dominating the best at a weight he shouldn't even really be fighting at.

Greater than Pep or Saddler? Based on what? I think Lomachenko is a great fighter but some of his fans are over the top.

I fully agree with your post. He's winning at 135 thanks to his superior skills, DESPITE his size. But I respect his choice as he was being ducked at 130. Plus, the reason his move to 135 could be smart, is because very soon the guys from 130 who ducked him, like Davis and Berchelt, wouldn't be able to make 130 anymore, so they would be forced to fight him, or suffer the shame of ducking him at 135 too.

No, against Rigondeaux and Linares he was weighting 137-138lbs on the fight night, while Linares was 147. The difference between Lomachenko, Mayweather and Pacquiao is that not every fighter is built the same way. Loma for example is more fragile than Floyd, Pacman and Inoue for example, so he couldn't jump as many weight classes, because in order to do it, you have to be phisically strong and possibly pack a good punch. That's why I'm saying his 135 campaign is kind of reminding me of Chocolatito's own at 115, where he's showing his skillset is superior to the others in the new weightclass, but is also visibly phisically weaker than them at the same time. Also I believe he's smaller than Pac and Floyd.

    Let's put it this way:
    - Loma isn't physically very strong and doesn't posses big punching power.
    - Floyd has the bigger frame, iron chin, was physically strong for his weight. He didn't have big punching power, but his punches were stronger than Loma's, especially at 135 and they were still respectable enough to keep the welterweights off of him and prevent them from overpowering him.
    - Pac, althought similar in size, was also weighting more than Loma on fightnights at 130 and 135, has a great chin and toughness and huge punching power for his size. That's why he was able to go up 8 weight divisions. Skills are great, but the physical gifts mean more than you think.
    - It looks to me, at least for now, that Naoya Inoue is similar to Pacquiao in that regard, and is the opposite of Loma, who I'd rather compare to Roman Gonzalez. It doesn't mean he's a lesser figher, it just mean that not every fighter, no matter how skillful he is, can defy the laws of physics.

He weighs in the upper 140's on fight night?

    At 126

    Loma 134 - Koasicha 133

    Loma 138 - Rodriguez 132

    Loma 138½ - Russell 138

    Loma 136 - Salido 147

    Loma 132 - Piriyapinyo 137

    Loma 129 - Ramirez 135

    At 130

    Loma 137 - Walters 136

    Loma 139 - Sosa 142

    Loma 137 - Martinez 144

Loma 137 - Rigo ? (he was 130 the morning of the fight in his tracksuit)

Loma 138 - Linares? Linares was at least 146 IMO

Not sure what his weight was against Pedraza but I suspect it was the same he's weighed, give or take a pound either way, for half of his fights at 126, all of them at 130, and his one at 135 prior to last week

Pedraza weighed 139lbs in the ring on fight night 3.5 years ago against Klimov which was down at 130 and he moved up because he was struggling to make the weight, hence why he had already announced that he was going to move up to 135 ''win or lose'' after the Twink fight and was set to move up before then and only decided to hang around at 130 for one fight when he was offered that one.

“My lack of activity and struggling to make weight at 130lbs definitely affected my performance in my last fight,” says Pedraza, “but I am working hard and looking forward to coming back soon. I think the Lightweight division is where I will make my mark and am excited to get back in the ring.”[/QUOTE]

It's an excuse from the fanboys for a potential future loss. I've never seen such excuse making in my life. Weird ass ****. Claiming a 5'7 man is 5'6. Claiming a guy built like a tank at 5'7 is too small for 135, 140, and 147, when guys smaller than Loma, and less skilled have had success at those weights. Claiming his shoulder is still injured, when the man himself stated it's fine. Getting mad at other forum members for refusing to slob down Loma's nuts like they do. If Loma ever loses again, there will be six or seven forum members on suicide watch.

That's the point. He is very muscular at 136 (his fight night weight) There is no room for more muscle on this frame. Pac and FMJ don't fight at 147 weighting 135, nor do they fight fat. They have bigger frames, full stop.

sizewise, loma is like gamboa, without the punching power.
