I don't think stopping a 135lb Linares in your first fight there is something to be looked down upon. It was a quality win.

Does getting stopped at 140 take the sheen off a bit? Probably.. Does it really matter? No. Lomachenko got the job done & has moved on..

As it stands in 13 fight's though his best win is still probably GRJ. Though there is talk of Miguel Berchelt moving up & being a possible match up soon too...

Loma has a few more years left yet to keep forging his legacy. His resume has incredible depth for 13 fight's..

lmao, some feelings being hurt around here. still stuck on the first stage, denial. for many, linares became a beast as soon as he signed to fight loma... even mikey was ducking him, lol. for the rest, linares was a decent test for a fighter moving up in weight and loma cleared the hurdle, thats all.
the excuses are hilarious, though. the lengths a fanboy will go to swing off some nuts is amazing.

 

It's because Loma is under such intense scrutiny & held to higher standard's than most, it's highlighted more. But over all it's not that big of a deal really, you can do it with any fighter. Example:
