Lomachenko is handling the loss terribly. BUT he was I fact putting it on Teo late in the fight. This reminds me a lot of Hopkins Taylor (which I had Hopkins winning both times I think) where the old champ didn't let his hands go until late but when he did, he was threatening to drown the young bull in deep waters. The only difference is Teo rallied to win round 12 which imo won him the fight beyond any doubt.
The fight was pretty even, and i scored a draw. Could have gone either way tho. But its all his fault. Bob Arum is ******. He should have know what could have happen. At the very least he should have expected a terrible decision. When we talk about a Champion like Loma, who held a lot of titles and is a big name, you must put rematch clause in that contract. Its simple as that. Now Loma is pretty much f*****, and this hurt his legacy big time. He could have definitely won the rematch, knowing what to expect now. Everyone have a bad night at the office, and also you should expect a bad decision here and there. Its the manager job to care for such thing. Again Bob Arum is big on words, but terrible job right there. And lets not forget the second surgery. Every injury is bad, but shoulder ones are the worst, esp. for fighters. Teofimo is nothing special, he will get f**** pretty soon. If Loma can`t get the rematch, he should just get down in the lower division, where he belongs.
Does kinda suck that Teo wont run in back. Youre the bigger, younger guy, who Loma went out of his way to fight, but you cant run it back in a fight that left some question marks, in a fight that would still be one of the biggest fights you can make? idk.... seems like he's running from the rematch to me. I could understand if Loma was some unknown guy that he barely scraped by and he doesnt think its worth it to do it again and wants to move on to bigger and better things. But, thats not the case. Loma would still be one of his biggest fights.
Rematches favor a great tactician like Loma, but because of the early lead he never saw Lopez's plan B, plus Lopez proved he has skills and versatility and his own tactics. It's a 50/50 fight, but personally I'd rather see him fight the other 135 contenders. If that's not going to happen, then sure a rematch is the next best thing.
Loma was the Undisputed Lightweight World Champion before losing it to Teo so I see no reason for Loma to go down in the lower division. Besides, Teo beat Loma clearly even if it was a close fight.
Yall mad that Loma and Arum didn't want Lopez to get a rematch. Backfired on their arses big time. They disrespected Lopez with that ****, so **** it. On to the next.
