I think Arum set Loma up, he is happier with a guy who is going to duck and weave opponents to his tune, not Loma who wants to fight everyone. Arum probably wants Loma to crush a few tin cans matrix style in between his bigger fights earning some nice cash but Loma may decline and say big fights only.

The fact Teo is avoiding the rematch reveals some truth about their fight. Loma dominated 8-11, while every other round was close, except round 12 possibly from memory.

Usually a boxer giving up all his belts gets a rematch, but the only way Loma could get Teo in the ring was making concessions. I'd say Lopez and Arum had a plan to get the fight on the scorecards and then sail away.

That being said, it was a close fight and Teo did well. However, imo it was closer to a draw than any other result.

That old vindictive troll is about as untrustworthy as a person could be.

 

There are pictures of Loma after the shoulder operation. Do you think he's umming and ahhing about a date for the operation?

Sure it was. In fact, Bob was trying to make it. Lomachenko said he was on board (initially). Then Lomachenko came out with the weight stipulations and then the final reason he gave for passing up the fight was that he would get no credit for beating up an old man.
