Yep, and as soon as Tanks balls drop, he might muster up the courage to fight Loma. Until then, he can continue fighting (and struggling) with one legged old guys and smaller guys he can drag up to his weight. Speaking of excuses, I don’t recall Loma ever losing a strap to a scale like Tank. How does a young man fail to make weight. I look forward to seeing thank fight a true lightweight. In the ring, not on Twitter where he seems to do most of his fighting.
How does a guy who is undersized at 135 duck a guy who beats most 147 pounders and easily fights at the weight? I’m a Pac fan but he’s too big for Loma. Pac started small but took magic vitamins to grow to a much larger size. Maybe Loma can visit his pharmacist or nutritionist. I’m guessing pharmacist would be the one to meet.
The imaginary big names at 140 of course. Kidding aside, if he can get a fight with Manny or Mikey at 140, that would be worth chasing. Haven’t seen these names called out or even considering the fight. Those guys are chasing bigger names at welter.
Because he said he wanted the fight, Pac said he wanted the fight, Arum tried to make the fight, and then he moved the goal post several times before landing on the beating-an-old-man-does-nothing-for-me line. Pac competes at 147, but the majority of 135 pounders are bigger than him on fight night. And no, Pac was a massive weight drainer at the lower weights. He was going up as high as 148 when he was at a super feather. If he was taking PEDs as you are suggesting, Pac would be weighing in at 147 and rehydrating to 155-160. Be he's not.
If you say so. If Pac can make 135, I’m certain he could get the fight. No belt for Loma at the moment so it’s probably not going to happen, understandably. Loma can make 126. To expect him to fight a guy who competes at 147 is probably not realistic. They have weight classes for a reason.
It's not what I say or believe. It's what happened. Lomachenko never directly said that the weight was the issue. He should have used that instead of saying he wouldn't get credit for beating up an old man when he finally dismissed the fight. Yes, they do. But Pac's an exception. He clearly doesn't belong at 147, but that's the glamour division alongside heavyweight for the big money fights. He faces a significant size disadvantage at 147.
Lopez was told there was no rematch there for him so its its understandable why he's reluctant. But then again Loma gave him the opportunity and that all that really mattered. Lopez can now give Loma the opportunity with the same terms he was given. 70% split to the champion or whatever it was. Maybe Loma won't accept those terms. Lopez can tell him to take it or leave it. Teo should take the rematch though and prove he can beat Loma again. But after the way he was looked down upon and disrespected , its probably not going to happen
The embarassing thing with it isn't that Loma wouldn't face a still great fighter that would have something like 10 lbs on him in the ring, but that he tried to sell it off like he wouldn't waste time with an old man, shortly after beating Rigo. It's like when GGG:s team said that Golovkin would face anyone at 168 even, but when Ward came knocking it was all of a sudden 164 max. Fair enough if you don't want to face top fighters that are bigger than you, but don't sound off as you would then. Easy as that.
Disrespected? He was given a title shot. Does he want his ass kissed? Doesn’t he get enough of that from his low rent fans?
I was hoping you were going to disagree. I enjoy your posts and was going to say we can’t agree on everything. People agreeing when I expect them to disagree is like mental jiujitsu. Throws me off! Tank is an exciting fighter and I hope he steps up soon because boxing needs exciting young fighters. He frustrates me with his opponent choices but that can all change if he beats a top fighter. I hope he finds the discipline to do so and make me regret all of the bad things I’ve said about him over the years.
