    Well that didn't take long.

    With the ink barely dry on his new UFC deal, former Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard (31-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) made his intentions perfectly clear.

    "I want to be UFC middleweight champion, and I want to fight Anderson Silva to do it," Lombard stated. "I have such respect for him as a fighter. It would be an honor and a dream come true to test my skills against his."

    Lombard is forgetting he needs to string together some wins over genuine contenders but it should be fun.

    Hes already in his mid 30s and Silvas thinking retirement. This match excites me x1000 more than the thought of a drug free Chael gettin smoked

    Lombard would get starched, early.

    Let's see him in with either Stann; Winner of Munoz-Weidman; winner of Belcher-Palhares; winner of Bisping-Boestch. Then we'll see whether he really is a mobster or the guy who lost to Gono.

    I almost wish he'd stayed around to fight Falcao though :yep

    Before he left Bellator, I wish they would've set up a fight between him and Melvin Manhoef.

    That fight would've been fun for the 40 seconds it would've lasted.

    I really like Lombard. I'm excited to see this fight, and although Anderson should win... You got to give Lombard props for not only moving up to fight GREAT fighters, but fighting the GREATEST fighter in the division!
