Loma hands down. Better skills better resume and wants to be great. Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
I hear you, but you must know that GGG didn't fight for a title until his 17th fight but by his 22nd fight he had won three titles. That's a span of five fights. Also, from his 14th fight until his 35th fight have all been stoppages. GGG is so devastating, that he made a world class middleweight drop his hardware and run like a scalded dog. Now that's enough said.:yep
Better resume? That's debatable. Loma, has Russell Jr., which sticks out as a better win than anything on Golovkin's resume. But outside of Russell Jr, Loma lost to old man Salido, who is no world beater. He also has faced 11 other scrubs, in non-amateur bouts. Loma's record is really 12-1. Golovkin's resume while leaving a lot to be desired, actually has more depth to it. So while Loma has the better single win, Golovkin has the better overall resume due to slightly better overall opposition. Loma, definitely seems to have shown more heart so far. Although it doesn't take much heart to go up a weight class and beat down a scrub who happened to have a belt in a weak division. If Golovkin moved up to face Arum's Super Middleweight, that guys is comparatively better than the chump that Loma beat down last night. Loma is a two division titlist. When a limited guy the level of Martinez, has a title. It's basically saying the division is somewhat thin.
GGG would badly beat a 160lb version of Salido. Loma had no answer for that. Loma is a very technical fighter, don't confuse that with being a better fighter.
GGG is the most overhyped fighter in history. There's no way to gauge how good he really is, because he hasn't stepped up in class yet.
Looks like he will be too early to tell yet though IMO. GGG has totally dominated his division Loma hasn't done that yet. So I disagree that he's not greater yet but probably will be. They're both great fighters.
Different type of fighters, but Lomachenko and GGG are not that different. They're both aggressive counter-punchers. One does it with beautiful fluidity, the other does it with brute force precision. Lomachenko's footwork is dazzling. GGG, subtle and effective and incredible at cutting off the ring. Where GGG lacks speed, he makes up for solid fundamentals and brutal power. Both guys have their strengths. If they're both the same size, can you honestly tell me that GGG can't beat Lomachenko with his balance, ring cutting skills, brutal body shots and great offensive ars*nal? I see it as 50/50.
The thing I find amazing is when comparing fighters to GGG it's always brought up the other guys comp, and how they need to do more to make a case for being better yet GGG doesn't have todo anything or face better comp to get credit. GGG destroys a journeymen MW all you here is opponent doesn't matter do you see how he looks. Insert any fighter they beat an actual decent opponent and its aww look who he fault so an so should step up. Salido, Russell,& Martinez overall are higher quality Scalps than what GGG has that should come into play when judging fighters even in losing to Salido that was his second fight more credit should be given for showing huevos something Golovkin lacks.
Based off what exactly this dudes claim to fame is winning a vacant title vs a guy coming off a loss in which he was dropped like 6 times. Lemiuex is only talked about because he faced GGG and they need someone to try and build up his resume.
