I fear that salido will be too much and a potential ATG will be turned into a deflated no confidence having journeyman

Yeah right...its harder to know whether Rigondeaux or Lomochenko has the better overall amateur record....incredible really.

Will be very interesting to see how he goes against Salido

Rigondeaux was 475 with 12 losses...also utterly insane!

Somehow that number keeps changing. That number is too high. 487 amateur fights seems like way too much.

Lomachenko didn't lose a fight from the time he laced up his gloves to the championship match of his first World Amateurs

That was the only fight he ever lost and he avenged it twice

I've heard a lot of people saying the numbers are fuzzed, and that could be true. But if it's not, Lomachenko has had one of the most impressive achievements I've heard of from ANY athlete.

He's actually only around 25 which means that many amateur fights is pretty much impossible. Not taking anything away from him but just saying that number is way too high.

Loma is a special talent. He might not be able to beat Rigo yet but I'd bet he beats Salido.

    He means Rigo..

Although I agree Lomas numbers are very high, I know his dad and trainer (also trains Usyk) is a boxing fanatic, and he was in competitive bouts from an early age. IDK how old they must be before they are recorded as 'official' bouts, but it's quite possible to imagine an amateur knockout style competition where they'd fight 3 times in an afternoon. If you're fighting fortnightly or even weekly, those numbers would rack up pretty fast.

Just checked - officially bouts can be counted from age 11 (in the UK - though I've heard mention of this age in other context so probably internationally also). I think AIBA competion rules do stipulate a minimum time between bouts in major competions and tournaments, but how closely these are followed in Ukraine in Club, City or Regional youth bouts is hard to say.

It's a big number - but possible in the circumstances - 14 years at a little under 30 bouts a year. Once a fortnight or so, or as I mentioned competitions in which he might fight several times in an afternoon perhaps. In the Olympics or World champs of course he could be fighting 4 or 5 times in a coupla weeks.
