Looks like a once great fight is dead

Not only does Walters not have a belt, he is likely moving to 130. Dude was 145 last night, no way he can still make 126

    What a shame

Well if they want to unify you can't really blame them. Still I'd rather see this fight than some of the others belt or no belt, it'd do the most for Loma in terms of giving him some exposure and raising him in the p4p rankings of the boxing public.

Walters can fight Danny Garcia so he can have a taste of what it feels like boxing without a huge size advantage. Every half decent boxer can look like a superstar fighting with a 10+ lbs weight advantage, ask Chavez Jr.

There needs to be some control or penalties in regards to rehydration, same day weigh ins and something else to ensure boxers can only rehydrate so much (say 10 lbs at maximum).

Well can't really blame Loma or his team. We have to thank Walters for it not happening. Walters is obviously to big, he should move up. I wonder what Loma will do now though. Hopefully he fights two more times this years, instead of the scheduled one. If Walters gets a title at 130 and when Loma is ready to move up, we could see that fight.

10 lbs doesn't work since the gap between weight classes isn't same. I'd say up to 5% over the weight limit should be fair. Walters would need to be under 132.3 lbs on fight night if this was the case.

Big risk is fighters coming into the ring dehydrated. Sanctioning bodies won't want to risk that as that's where the real danger of getting hurt lies.

So Loma only wants to fight champions? We shall see who he picks to fight next.

So he's expected to move up because Walters can't make weight anymore. Makes sense. :nut

I don't expect him to move up. It expect him to target a belt holder next after what his manager said.

That's why there needs to be some sort of second measure to ensure that doesn't happen. Maybe weigh ins leading up to the fight? I don't know.

He is doing the right thing. Walters is HUGE, he has no place at 126.
