You read it right, whats the longest period of uncontested dominance.? I'm not talking the longest reign or longest time with a few close decisions, just a period of DOMINANCE where a champion looked untouchable.

The one that sprung to my mind was Roy Jones Jr. from the Montell Griffin rematch to the John Ruiz fight. I didn't know if anyone around him at the time could touch him (under cruiserweight...), but I was a bog roy hater back then and like Darius.

    but who do you think?

Obviously Tyson until he got beat by Douglas....but thats only 3 years from the time that he won a hevyweight championship.
Hopkins after his Trinidad beatdown and until his loss to Taylor.
Tszyu for a period of time

BUT, Roy Jones still claims the longest period of dominance....its 7 years or something like that

The guy in my avatar warrants consideration for this accolade.

Edit: He won the title in 1990, and, until he faced Rosendo Alavarez, no one cam at all close to beating him.

I'd have to think for that though :-D... Larry Holmes is easy though.. From the day he got his title, to the day he lost it by a bull**** decision. Which i think was like 7 years or something ridiculous. For Sweet Pea, probably when he fought Azumah, until he fought a competitive fight with Oscar, at an old age non the less.

Dominance for 11 rounds and then knock ya out.
Did Time, came out, lost pro debut, first title fight, drew another one and then dominate your azzes for 10 years and 8 months, how do you like it?

Duran 73-80. After the De Jesus fight and until Leonard rematches. He didn't lose too many 'rounds'. Nearly 8 years, over 40 fights.

1997, I believe. So, that's seven years...which is actually a bit longer than Jone's run (remember, he was extened by Tarver in the latter part of '03).
