when buffer is introducing someone he usually goes through the list of accomplishments " former lightweight world champion...... former welterweight world champion......." etc .. who has the longest intro that youve heard How much of that is to hype up the fighter
its always...ALWAYS: OOOOOOssssssssssssssssssssssssssssccccccccaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr DEEEEEEEEEEE LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
Oscar De La Hoya when he fought Floyd. Oscar is a six division champ, and has won titles on multiple occasions at multiple weight classes. His intro was long. Here it is. [yt]Xmt80g-y9FI[/yt]
Roy Jones' was the longest before the second Tarver fight, I think. Something along the lines of the former middleweight, former super middleweight, former heavyweight, and reigning 3 time light heavyweight champion who is the current pound for pound best with his only loss by disqualification and avenged via a first round knockout in the rematch. Anyone else remember that?
by the time he gets through mentioning the divisions oscar has won in (each time its like sh*t here we go again) then the ten minutes he takes with his name u hada go with oscar......naz was kinda long during the barrera fight took him ages to get to the ring on that weird throne and then he made some speech during the introductions.....didnt do him any good though!
didnt he do it before the barrera fight as well i could be wrong...he had his hands wrapped more than an hr before the fight and i remember they made a big thing of it on commentary then when buffer was announcing him he requested the mic and made some speech cant rem the details?
the former Jr.Lightweight Wooooorlllllldddd champion......... the former Lightweight worllllddddd champion.... former Super Lightweight worllllllllddd champion....... the former Super Welterweight worllllllld champion.... the best pound for pound fighter in the worllllllddddd the biggest money showboating ******* in the worllllllldddddd the reigninnnggggg defendinnnnggggggg welterweight champion of the worllllllddddddddd Floyd AKA moneyyyyyyy MAYYYYYYYYYYYWEATHERRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Whatever you think of Michael Buffer, he is much better than the clown who was announcing on the Cotto/Gomez - Margarito/Cintron bill. Americans should talk like Americans, rather than trying to sound like a Mexican - he sounded like an Indian after a few beers.
I vaguely remember Audley Harrison's debut and I'm sure they played the whole of redemption song as an introduction and then started another Marley tune before he even started walking towards the ring. Slightly different from the question being asked but still a long introduction! I suppose he had to make the most of the good times though
