longest wait for shot at title......

    what champion past or present had the longest wait for shot at title while being ranked in the top three and why he had to wait so long? i would guess lamotta but not sure. i believe he was known as the uncrowned champ for about three or four years?

    yes u r right the ole mongoose had a very long wait anyone know how long and why?also joey giardello how long was he a top contender 15 yrs?
