Actually he vacated IBF title month after Tyson fight. He could have fought Byrd but instead he relinquished belt and had a year off.

Lineage? Lineage was with Foreman until he lost to Briggs. It was then passed to Lewis.

Lewis had no choice about the WBA strap, the TV companies wanted him to defend the title against Grant. If Lewis hadn't been robbed the first time he may have had time to do his WBA mandatory which was actually Akinwande at the time. Ruiz gained the poistion by default after Henry came down with Hepatitis. Neither were worthy contenders, especially Henry following his shameful performance against Lewis.

Lennox held both other belts, and defended them regularly, up until his last year in the sport where he took a break. He was approaching retirement at this point and there was no clamour for a Byrd fight.

I can't believe how much credence you're paying the corrupt sanctioning bodies.

Again nobody and i mean nobody wanted to see Lewis vs Bryd. It would be a boring fight to say the least and Bryd don't bring the money.

It's a case of Don King wanting to keep things safe and in the stable if anything goes wrong, Tyson being "scared" or any of that is nonsense, if he's scared he wouldn't have fought Lewis when he was older and worse. It was obvious a loss for Tyson was on the play and Don King sure as **** won't feed that to anyone out of his stable. I know it sucks and many wanted to see how it would have been in 1996 but that's how things go, business first.

I dont actualy think that ABC mandatorys are all that important.
Just comparing Lewis actions with IBF title to Tysons actions.

    Lewis was a strange fighter.
He was often way too cautious when it didn't appear he needed to be, but too full of bravado when it seemed he shouldn't have been. Look at the Briggs and Tucker fights, he gets tagged and then drops his hands to take more shots ! Against Rahman the first time he drops his hands and smiles then steps into the ropes and takes a right hand that KO'd him.
But generally he must have known what he was doing, look at his record.

Anyway, I think a prime Tyson would beat him.
I also think a prime Holyfield beats him.

    No way.

Prime Holyfield was a cruiserweight. Lennox would have been too big for him.

Lewis vs Tyson prime for prime is a real 50/50 fight imo.

Tyson would have laid Lewis out cold early, prime for prime. If someone like Oliver McCall could take him out in 2, a prime Tyson would have taken advantage of those shaky whiskers bigtime!
