Have a look at this guys. Looks like an illegal pyramid business.

    Calzaghe :

    Hopkins - Pavlik

Kessler - Andrade, Mundine. Andrade probably takes Bute in the rematch. And then another belt or two. Definetely could beat Inkin. And a lot of other top 10's.

Mundine - Going to take Sturms WBA strap very soon.

Like i said a little while back. Calzaghe will rely on Kessler here. And Kessler will do the business, he will clean out 168. And if he doesn't, Andrade can do it for him.

Also at Middleweight, Mundine will most likely take down Sturm. (News is hes walking around below the weight).

Kesslers next fight will probably be winner of Taylor or Lacy, so you can add them to the pyramid.

I believe how well Kessler does in the future will have a large impact on how well Calzaghe is remembered, especially in America.

Even if Kessler retires tomorrow i think Joe will be thought of quite highly when he retires but there will always be doubts because he didn't fight Hopkins, Jones, Toney, etc in theirs and his prime.

Unfortunately one of Joe's best performances (Lacy) has not had the proper effect some thought it would as Lacy is now a shell of his former self. Hopkins beating Pavlik helps Joe a bit especially if Pavlik goes on to fullfill his potential but if Kessler can dominate supermiddle and more importantly, if he ever fights and defeats a hopefully at that point still undefeated Chad Dawson then this would help Calzaghe's legacy greatly.

Obviously it would be much better for Joe's legacy if he had beaten Pavlik and Dawson himself but beating the man who beat the man is better than nothing. I know styles make fights and just because Bernard or Kessler beat someone doesn't mean Joe would beat them as well but when looking back and reminiscing a lot of people tend to forget this.

Agree mate. Weird thing is, i can't see Kessler getting beaten again.

Hes to powerful. And he has decent speed.

Add to that a Carl Froch like chin.

I can't see anyone at 160 or 168 beating him but im not sure about Dawson. I don't think Dawson is the second coming Of Jones Jr like some people around here seem to think but he is a very quick skilled fighter that could give Kessler trouble.

Im glad you mentioned Kessler's speed. Its one thing people tend to not pick out about him. When talking about Kessler everyone mentions his power and chin and occasionally that he is quite well skilled for a tall power puncher but i actually think that he does punch quite quick. I was very suprissed by how quick he was when he fought Calzaghe.

I rewatched Calzaghe V Kessler after making my Kessler/Dawson thread yesterday. Calzaghe has very fast hands and feet but Kessler was matching him early on.

I completely agree. I was so shocked to see Kessler match Joe in terms of speed. Maybe not combinations as such but his one punch speed is certainly impressive and underrated.

If people start feeding him some of these Bum yank fighters, Kessler could make ATG status.

We all know Kessler will travel, and how yanks don't fight out their comfort zone, the only problem is, yanks tend to make a name from fighting other bum yanks, so I don't know how serious any would be fighting Kessler.

i love a good old fashioned race fight i.e joe/hopkins....

so kessler v taylor/hopkins is the one for me.

  12. Joe is still completely (completely) unknown over here. His "victory" over Hop didn't raise his stock or his profile at all in US. He started taking "real" fights far too late. If he loses to Roy .. well, he better go down firing .. at least Hatton will be remembered for the colorful ring post butt. Joe needs to defeat Roy (he may really need a couple more fights (e.g., Dawson, Hop re-match, something) especially as both Tarver and Glenn put the weight-affected Roy to sleep (and the fans remember those defeats)) convincingly or he will remain as well known to the American audience as Darius. Kessler isn't even on the radar screen. Does he bake cookies?

I doubt Calzaghe cares, since he will be a HOF legend, and has made a vast fortune, and commands the respect of a worldwide audience, rather than the tubby Yank public which are fed a lot of wooden plank fighters on a daily basis, the fact Pavlik is big over there says it all.

  14. Sounds like you care, huh? I never said Joe cares. My comment is in relation to the post I quoted. Little sensitive? I could chop up that ignorant "Yank" comment but the markets are opening and I gotta go. Maybe next time.

Let us be honest, you can't cut up a well known fact.

Plus.... defensive know, just letting you yankee doddles know there is something beyond the American borders, his worldwide fame is in no doubt.
