Koji Sato, he is going to challenge Felix Sturm. Is this even real? Gee he sure is steping up to fight some real competion though. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=306158&cat=boxer P.S. How big of an upset would it be if Sato beat Sturm?
He's a big puncher from what I've heard, din't know he was fighting Sturm. Even if he has a padded record (K.O'd the domestic Jap champ in a round I think so can't be all that bad) Sturm has been K.O'd by a JMW and is past his prime, I wouldn' be surprised if Sato sparked him.
I hope he is a live underdog. It would be kinda cool to see the Japanese start dominating in the higher weight divisions.
Bump, I would like to hear some input. Does Sato have a chance? Have you seen him fight or heard anything on him before Sturm took the fight with him?
In the link it shows there are only 47 Japanese middleweights, but I think this Sato is the only one worth mentioning. Even if it is a completely padded record.
There is definitely a lack of great Japanese fighters above the lighter weight classes. It'd be good for boxing to have more Japanese fighters. Japan is a nation that loves their fight sports. MMA is very popular over there, but boxing comparatively is somewhat of an untapped market.
id love to see sturm get iced, but,if its by this guy then chances aare he'll stay in japan fighting soft opposition, which would probably be worse than sturm keeping it.
