    I don't believe so.

I agree that if the doc didn't stop it that round, it would have needed stopping in the next or the one after.

But on account of that ****in' dreadful cut.

If Dr. McCoy had beamed down at the end of the sixth, with some futuristic gadget and closed the cut, leaving his eye exactly as it was at the first bell, IMO, Vitali would have won.

Lennox knew his days at the top were over. He was a bit curt with Larry in the post fight, a bit embarrassed, and he knew that without the cut, he might not have prevailed.

At any rate, he had the opportunity to get in real shape and make over $2o million in a rematch, but after waiting and watching Vitali for over a year, declined.

As I already stated, Lennox was the better fighter in his prime, but by then, his prime was past.

Well I guess thats the difference between you and I, I beleive Vitali was on his way out, But you can argue otherwise, what we do agree on is that his better fighting days were behind him, and he still beat the younger bigger challenger and that says alot about the former undisputed Champion.

The sheer randomness at the end made it even funnier.

Sugar Shane Mosley is my favorite fighter. Can't wait to see he and Mayorga. Lennox could have mustered another fight. If Ali could have fought Holmes, and Louis fought Marciano, then Lennox could have fought Vitali. But, I really think he was afraid of Vitali deep down inside. How can anyone pass up that much money? He would have made more money than the Tyson money.

When Vitali was asking Lennox for a rematch, making him promise a rematch, Vitali's face was so bloody, it looks like Lennox was bothered by it all. I'm not disrespecting Lennox, I might be wrong, but it looks like that to me. Lennox having his pom poms out for Corrie Sanders, and then waiting for Vitali to fight Kirk Johnson first before announcing his retirement, that just didn't seem like a natural retirement to me.

sheez... if the look of ones face was what determined an outcome of a fight, then white red haired guys wouldn´t have a chance, they usually have the thinnest skin(a good example is hatton... his skin tears easier than TP) and black guys would have a huge handicap(I asked a plastic surgeon about this, and he said there was no doubt about it, most black people have much thicker skin. And their bruises show much less because of the color contrast). I also asked a tattooist about this, and he said red haired fair skinned people bleed by far the most, and black people the least.

Lennox is an *******... no two ways about it.

I am still laughing at the people that said Vitali had a Glass Jaw just because Wlad did. Larry Merchant even called Vitali "guilty by association" before the fight. Vitali proved them all wrong he has an Iron Chin and has NEVER been knocked off his feet.

Shame on all of those who are purely *speculating* that "Lennox would have knocked him out, no question!" instead of mentioning the most important fact of the this fight: That Vitali scared Lennox into RETIREMENT. This is an absolute fact b/c we know for sure that Lennox was planning to fight Kirk Johnson on this night while Vitali fought on the undercard and then the winners (presumably Lennox and Vitali) would be set up for a megafight. So Lennox had plans to have at least one more fight, until he got in there with Vitali early and decided it would be much safer for his legacy if he retired like a *****.

To leave THAT part of the story out completely is blatant dishonesty, and I suspect Lewis fanboyism or Vitali hate.

I think the most important part is Lewis TKO6 Klitschko. An underprepared, post-peak Lewis at that.

You mean if Lewis hadn't smashed his face in so badly that he couldn't continue?
I'd like you to do something, review the tape of the fight, after round 6 is over Vitali's corner are putting butterfly stitches on his cuts. Now, this is before the doctor came over to check on him. Two points here, he's not allowed to fight with those on his face, his cutman knows it, his chief second knows it and he knows it-they were pulling him out of the fight themselves. Point two-he didn't even notice. This alone, even without him not being able to respond to the doctors examination tells us that he was out of it and that if anyone was getting stopped in the next round it wasn't Lewis.

I only posted this video because it's funny. I was basically laughing at Lewis. But that some people try to claim some sort of freakish moral victory for Klit...i'm astonished. For you guys, here is what happened.

An old fighter had a fight with a primed fighter. The old fighter punched the primed fighter in the face until the primed fighter couldn't possibly continue.

That is a definitive result. That is a good win. Yes, Lewis retired. But Lewis was ****ing old, he is entitled to retire if he feels he is past it.

yeah it was too big of a risk for Lewis even with a huge reward and it will always haunt his legacy. We can all argue about who would have won but I think if Lewis clearly believed he was definitely on his way to winning the first one he would have signed up for the rematch.
