I have no beef with RJJ but he did fight Vinny Paz who was a lightweight.

Getting in shape is more than just looking pretty. We won't know if he is fit enough to go 12 hard rounds until he actually does it. Guess what? Roy Jones has never pressured an opponent for 12 consecutive rounds in the past so there ain't much chance he gonna do it now. Trinidad doesn't need to be in great shape to fight Jones, what he needs is a lucky punch for the win.

It's sometimes misleading to look at a fighter's physique and assume he's in or out of shape.

It's not like he's Buster Douglas against Evander Holyfield or Kirk Johnson against Vitali Klitschko.

but the truth is that this fight really means nothing in the big scheme of things, and does not rob the fans of a meaningful fight. it is what it is.
on the othr hand, the dlh pbf fiasco does rob the fans of the ww champion actually efending his title against a top ranked ww. something he has yet to do since winning the title.

I am not very worried about looks... He would always keep up an average pace for 12, 15 minutes and would struggle to make it to the finish line, sucking up air and closing the distance often to catch his breath, just that I don't know if his mind will go for all or nothing when he realises what are the options... More than any other time, I believe that he may not hear the final bell.
