Excuse the bad quality...... but watch how he lands the right hand and immediately blocks Rahman's counter right hand with his left glove. A lot of this stuff is missed when you watch the fight live.

It's working now, but the quality is bad. Consequently, my read might be incorrect, but it looks to me like Rahman throws a nothing punch having been hurt, lands it, and Wlad drops his left onto Rahman's arm after the punch is landed?

Certainly it looks to me that Rahman's fist is inside Wlad's fist, meaning that it would be an interrupted punch at best, rather than blocked?

Wlad does have fine reactions though.

He actually pushed the punch off target. It didn't land. His left bumped the right arm of Rahman sending it besides the head, rather than landing.

Nope, he intersects the counter right hand by quickly putting his left glove up.

In addition to demonstrating good reactions it also shows good instincts. He's running interferance, bringing the hand back into position. It's the kind of thing Hopkins is lauded for.

Rahman's punch already lost steam after he was hit.Anyway I thougt Wlad is slowing down after the Thompson and Rahman fights.

Bad quality, but good enough to illustrate the point. Very nice reaction time in the exchange- sometimes it's easy to forget his speed since he's usually such a measured and calculating fighter.

Of course the footage also reveals he is not punching through with the jab, and that he's only able to land a glancing right hand on an essentially stationary target :D

    No doubt you do! ;)

He does vary the jab and it is a most excellent blinder.
