Look for GGG to make adjustments and win easy or TKO Canelo

After watching the robbery draw again, I see two adjustment for GGG to make.

1 ) it’s clear Canelo can’t win in the center of the ring. So look got GGG to stay in the middle of it, firing away forcing Canelo to retreat as he did in the first fight.

2 ) Canelo preferred to say on the ropes and counter. This is where he did his best work. Give him some credit, he's got good defense, and a fast counter. Look for GGG to just pile up points on the very end of his jab, trying to bait Canelo to come out. When he wants to press it with Canelo on the ropes he should move a few more inches away from Canleo’s counter hook, or be ready to block it and fire back with a straight left.

Footnote: If Canelo's muscles and frame shrink in comparison to the first fight, its a telltale sign he was on PED's for their first match.

I want GGG to win , but there’s one , most important adjustment he can’t make . He can’t adjust his age . He’s old and past prime.

He's not as fast as he was 3-4 years ago, but technically he's fine, and he still can punch very hard.

If GGG needs to take one to land one, we saw he will in the past.

He's been past prime for a lot longer than you think. By the time 2015 came around he was past prime. That's before he's even fought anybody really. Yet he's demolishing top tier middleweights with ease despite being an old man. Just imagine what the young, fast version of GGG would do. Canelo would be out pretty darn quickly, on the canvas, in agony.

Being more aggressive is the only adjustment he can make. That's it.

If Canelo can improve his endurance and work-rate he'll shut this guy out.

    Dino,

Correct me if I'm mistaken as you never know who you are talking to in a message forum. You're not a boxer, or trainer. I don't think you really understand how styles make fights.

Being more aggressive by itself is a suggestion only, how to do it is called a strategy or a plan. IF GGG makes the adjustments I spoken about he's going to win easy. Canleo is sacred of his power, and retreated for a reason. GGG can take away his counters by not taking the bait or moving to his left as I mentioned to prevent him from scoring.

And I'm sure Canelo does not want to stand and trade in the ring, and can't out jab GGG.

Canleo's fans best hope of for GGG's Trainer, who really does not impress me much to give bad advice. Or for father time to age GGG in boxing dog years.

345–5 in the amateurs plus 39 professional fights is a lot of matches, wouldn't you say?

I don't agree that GGG should stay in the center of the ring. Kell Brook exposed Gennady's inability to fight inside when they were in the middle of the ring and so did Canelo, and thus GGG has to start from the get-go to physically bully Canelo.

Canelo's main success defensively came from sliding out to Golovkin's right. He needs to maybe include a feint and a shift to his right in anticipation of that, or throw a right low like he dropped Murray with - though this leaves him open for a crisp counter, which Canelo can delivery wonderfully. GGG was lees aprehensive to open up as the fight went on, so perhaps that'll show more in the second fight. Too often he threw that right cross and that was too easy for Canelo to avoid. Even that looping right he floored Jacobs with would have been more use here.

Obviously for GGG his jab is key. It's deadly accurate, has authority and it's a powerful shot in its own right. Throwing left hooks low after some jabs from distance would be a good move, I think.

As for Canelo, I guess it's more of the same. He worked really effectively but just not enough. His stamina isn't great anyway but the way he fights is very taxing. High energy burst counter attacks are always going to make it difficult to fight for the full 3 minutes of every round. He slips and counters to the body really, really well and against an older fighter that's absolutely an excellent tactic.

    The film proves otherwise.

Golovkin was scared of trading with him , hence why he will need to be more aggressive in the rematch.

??? In almost all cases the guy backing up and playing defense is the one who is scared. The film showed GGG landed more punches, and Canleo only did well on the ropes which is why the adjustment I'm talking about should work for him.

Canelo had poor stamina against lesser opposition at 155lbs. I doubt it's something he can improve.

Actually, are there any fighter that truly improved their stamina/endurance over the years (especially going up in weight ?)
