Please link to where he ever is alleged to have had full-blown AIDS? The only question was whether he had HIV. In the 90's he tested positive for HIV. In the following decade he supposedly tested negative several times (indicating a false positive from the 90's if true, as you don't just up and stop carrying the HIV virus).
Did he get a licence, or is this bout unsanctioned? Don't care about him fighting anymore, another over 40 fossil trying to make some waves. But I never got what was really going on with this guy, hiv positive and sometime later it was a false positve... Later it was said he was positve again, but Morrison denied it. :-( At least he was exciting when he was young, or he would drill someone with his left hook from hell or got drilled himself. edit: IB types faster than me
Yes sorry i meant hiv, but what is the deal here then? he either got diagnosed wrongly in the 90's and got his carreer ended prematurely or he found a way to get arround todays tests?
As far as I know, the only positive he ever got was the one performed by the NSAC back in '96. He has been recently tested negative by three other commissions (Arizona, West Virginia, and Washington) and currently licensed to box by two of them. Nevada maintains that he's positive. Now he's fighting Chauncy Welliver somewhere in a non-sanctioned PPV? :huh It's all very confusing.
I think West Virginia allowed him to bring his own tests to show, which was supposedly the one always mentioned from Arizona (i could be wrong on that though). The thing for me is this. If Morrison truly was HIV negative as he's been claiming for a few years he could have made some money on a comeback. Maybe not now but if I remember correctly when he first started the claims he was 39 or so, hadnt quite reached 40. The point i'm trying to make is this. If Morrison is HIV negative and wants to fight then I would think he'd be at every major boxing commission (Nevada etc..) saying "test me all you want, im clean". But that's not something he's ever done in years. He's always fought in non-sanctioned bouts or the Wymoning State Muy Thai fiasco or out of the country. When the man continues to do that I just can't believe him.
as far as i know morrison was given a license to box in washington but they keep interfering and cancelling his fights.i personally dont think tommy ever had HIV it was all one massive conspiracy! he still has "the angry stuff in the basement" and may feel he has unfinished business.no harm in him fighting a few bums i suppose
