Wayne, I'm scared to think what would have happened to Chad-who quite frankly was relatively easy to hit with his chin up in the air-had he fought a prime Dwight Muhammed Qawi in a fantasy matchup.
Hi Boxed, 1st off, I never wrote Tarver was "ha-ha"'. But I contend he was never a great fighter. And just for the record, He didn't "taked" Roy Jones' "0". And, featherfisted Glen Johnson blasted Jones out soon afterwards, so you and Tarver can brag all you want about it, but it is what it is. Second, you compared Glen Johnson to Dwight Qawi. How you come up with that, I've no idea. Both their quality and styles are 2 different things and Qawi is completely on another level. If you can't see that, cheers:good. Now I am in the present with you. In the present, Chad has been stopped by both Stevenson(in 1 round) and light punching Ward. If you want to state that Dawson was weight drained against Ward, that could be a legitimate contention. But he was less weight drained than Ademak was when Chad decisioned him.
Very funny share If you say ,it just HAS to be true... I am sure you will read on here that most everyone will beg to differ... Not undercutting (not uppercutting) Dawson at all. Fact is that Dawson (for all of his skills) is chinny, FACT. And in Spinks, he would be up against a guy who could get it done with ONE shot ! Please tell me your not insulting Spinks because he was stopped by a prime time Tyson ?? that's your, analogy ? Your guy gets SPANKED easy and early by Stevenson ??? And your using Pascal as a measuring stick, for Dawsons` skills` ??? Lets keep it to lt,heavy`s and Spinks stops Dawson. Hey and I really like Dawson, good boxer, busy hands when he is on. But seriously, if Stevenson takes him out (with ease) Spinks, hurts him BAD... And with the frist shot he lands... Is this really Red Rooster ?
Roy was rightfully disqualified because he hit Griffen twice when he was down. It appeared that Roy was coming on and may have stopped Griffen within a round, but he was losing up to that point and the call was correct as the ref called it right. The dq was most definitely 'legiminent'. And yes, Glencoffe is featherfisted. And I'm 'deluged'? Fill ya in on a little secret, Big Fella. Chad Dawson was a pretty good champion at best and will be remembered throughout history as such.:yep
So sorry for writing the truth in response to you. My 'nationalism' is too much, lol? You don't even know me. Roberto Duran, a Panamanian is my fav fighter ever. Salvador Sanchez(Mexican) is my #5, Steve Collins(Irish) is my #7 and I prefer all to Spinks. Cheers
To which man of Haiti do you refer, Boxed? And what do you mean by "I can see which way your wind blows"?
Eddie Futch called Michael Spinks the easiest fighter to train of my entire career. "He did whatever I told him to do" "He wouldn't do anything I told him not to do" Thats one of the most impressive quotes in all of boxing once you think about it. Eddie trained alotta fighters!
Indeed. I remember reading about him driving around the neighborhood to spy on Riddick Bowe as he did his roadwork to make sure he did all his required mileage. A trainer shouldn't have to do that.
Finished Holmes Spinks 1-2 and Spinks won the first and Holmes was robbed IMO in the second. Spinks had such an awkward style yet effective. He was able to hit at awkward angles and land with precision . I was very impressed by his showing but truly unimpressed about the way he mailed it in with Tyson , he looked so scared as if he was fixing to face capital punishment. I'm curious why he called it a day after Tyson , he could've dropped back to lt hvy and ruled it or even stayed at hvy and face his fears . He had plenty of gas in the tank didn't he, at least 10-15 more fights?
