Looking at The Ring LHW ratings, is Nathan Cleverly the best LHW! Looks that way

But Hawk, Karpency and Krasniqi would go near him

Hopkins goes after Cloud, while Cleverly is forced to fight his mandatory Krasniqi.

Or do you think, Hopkins should wait another 8 - 12 months for Cleverly to be ready for a fight, instead Hopkins shows what a true legend is supposed to do, he remains active and takes on a world champion in the meanwhile.

    ??????

That's just plain stupid. Hopkins never took a beating in either of those Pascal fights. The Hopkins that Dawson fought was about the same as the Hopkins who Calzaghe fought.

Pascal is no where near world class level. His on the same level as Rahman and Robin Reid. Contender level. Dawson had no business losing to someone like that. Dawson was in control of that fight at the end before Pascal hit him with an intentional headbutt which stopped the fight.

Dawson's lacklustre performance in the Ward fight was due to him being dead at the weight, not because he stepped up the competition

The only reason you are trashing Dawson is because Calzaghe blatantly ducked him

Pascal's very good, look at the ring magazine top 10, bar Hopkins, Pascal is capable of beating anyone there. Contender level? Look I don't care about your 'tiering systems' Pascal was a world champion, so make of that what you will.

I have to ask what does Calzaghe have to do with this? I think someone has an obsession

    Better luck next time :hi:

The Ring Magazine rankings are just the opinions of the editors at the Ring. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are just plain wrong.

The best guy at lhw is Campillo
Pascal is a amauterish fighter. You would know that if you bothered to watch him fight
    That's just plain stupid.

The fact that he picked up a belt does not make him good. Plenty of sub-par fighters have picked up belts. The fact that he has lost twice to a near 50 year old fighter should tell you just how good he is.
Dawson at the end of the day took chances. Sometimes they paid off , sometimes they did not. He deserves much more respect than the frauds you so obviously like, like Calzaghe and Cleverly.

Have been wondering why he hasnt been mentioned in any discussions. This is the first time.Saw him a fair while ago and was very impressed,a lot more so than the others,so whats happened to him?If not retired, would, imo,be a real test for Cleverly, who I like as a boxer. Is Erdei being avoided?

Cleverley needs to step it up. Personally I think hes just a commercialized champion. But than again 175 is a poor division right now imo.

Agreed, no-one wants to see the Krasniqi fight :-(

According to FW, it was Shumenov who agreed to terms then backed away, that's a fight I'd like to see

I don't blame Froch or Hopkins for not fighting Clev though, I don't think Nathan brings enough money for these guys.

I don't think it's so much Clev's fault though, he fought Bellew in Liverpool, cancelled a fight in October to go fight in America to build his profile, he's been making the right noises about the big fights, but boxing is politics and never easy hence why we the fans have missed out on so many great matchups over the years

How many rounds did you give Cleverly against Bellew?

Looking at the ring magazine rankings, Cleverley is #5 LHW in the world.

the question was "IS". At the moment he fills the #4 position, but just look at the form line for Cloud and Campillo.
Cloud looked fortunate to win against Campillo, who lost and drew to a fighter that Nathan dominated and took the 0 of.
Hopkins has just been beaten by Dawson which is Dawson big win over a 47 year old and Nathan has more wins over the current top 10 LHWs than Dawson or Hopkins and took the 0 of two of the current top 10 LHWs
